Berman Upholds Suspension. Simply because everything about DeflateGate has has been worst case outcome so far, and I can't bring myself to be optimistic again.

The NFL had it's way with the media for 7 months while Brady (smartly) remained quiet (at the behest of his council -- most likely). now that he's had a minor chance to talk (and his appeal is doing the talking for him) opinions are starting to sway.

The NFL no longer can control what is going on (publicly) and Brady is getting more positive press. Hard to overcome people's minds when they were made up in the first 3 days, but it is slowly happening. stay strong and stay the course!

That may be true (I'm unconvinced there will be any meaningful change of public perception) but in any event that's not going to affect how Berman rules. (Though maybe, maybe, it'll push the NFL towards a reasonable settlement).

Just wanted to bump this back to the top since there appears to be a good chance we'll get some major hints tomorrow (Wednesday) about how this might ultimately shake down, so people can get some votes in before whatever happens tomorrow happens.

If this case doesn't win then Goodell essentially can do as he pleases and the CBA is garbage.

The CBA is precisely what's helping Roger Goodell, as it's an already agreed to labor contract. They agreed to this kind of deal which gives Goodell this awesome power.

It doesn't allow the NFL to lie or subvert the facts. That's the clear issue.

There is NO reasoning with Roger Goodell, Quantum. Just listen to that preposterous answer to Volin this afternoon. We're dealing wit a space alien ****** that has been dumped off here on earth to create chaos. Has to be...who else could even begin to approach the unconsciously idiotic replies from Morkdell?

100% total loss for the NFL regardless of the actual outcome.

Obviously the term "garbage" is subjective here, but contractually speaking, it may prove to help Goodell's cause tremendously. Our definition of the CBA being "garbage" is due to the awesome amount of power that it gives Roger Goodell, and the abuse of that power.

As you mention, there are other issues that benefit the union, and (as always) some gray area that they hope to take advantage of.

Bumping this up in the wake of the 19 August hearing.
