I definitely agree with your thoughts, although I'm guessing that the new contract given to Carson Palmer would take them out of the running.
There are plenty of other teams around the NFL that would improve upon their QB situation by taking Peyton Manning.
I would have to assume that Peyton Manning would be better than 1) EJ Manuel, 2) Geno Smith, 3) Johnny Manziel, 4) Zack Mettenburger, 5) Ryan Fitzpatrick, 6) Blake Bortles, and 7) Derek Carr.
That's just counting the AFC teams, which is almost 50 percent (7/16) squads.
Got to disagree about Carr. He was very impressive for a rookie working with nothing.
I think the Jets should give Geno another shot too. The guy is one of the most physically talented QBs in football. He's worth letting another coach work with while a stop gap vet fills in. Doubt Manning would go to the Jets for a season to take Geno under his wings, even if that would be an amazing opportunity or him and that team.
Palmer is the worst value QB ever. All those picks traded and contracts signed. Sigh.
I agree when looking at the big picture, but he was fairly competent with the Cardinals this season, with a 6-0 record as a starter prior to tearing his ACL.
Hell, he thinks Denver is too chilly at times?Nobody pining for the Bills to sign?
