No - need to exercise cost control with the bottom half of your roster in order to field a perennial contender.
Paxton was a great LS and he carried his weight, but I wouldn't characterize him as one of our "key players". If he were, we would have never let him go to FA. Clearly Denver is offering him more than we were willing to spend, and he's just a casualty of how we do business. Good luck to him, and we move on.
Personally, I would be thrilled if we got a LS who could actually contribute as a backup at a position, saving a roster spot.

It's not like he can not be replaced...
Its not a matter of whether or not he can be replaced. Its a matter of people thinking that the longsnapper position is an easy one to fill.
