Re: Adams released

Must've been something off field thats the way his tweet makes it sound..thats too bad i was starting to like him and think he is better then Molden but whatever move on

Re: Adams released

In this imperfect world a person is expected to be perfect I understand that..lesson learned time to move on from another situation

That is so deep!

Yes, but he had help over the top.

Re: Adams released

I wonder if they plan on converting OchoCinco to replace Sergio now?

Re: Adams released

Malcolm Williams, welcome to the NFL

Re: Adams released

I wouldn't worry about it. People who can play CB in the NFL are a dime a dozen, aren't they? :bricks:

Re: Adams released

No matter how this season turns out, we will spend much of the off-season trying to figure out the logic of Belichick's transactions in the secondary this season.

Adams had more reps aginst Philly at corner than any corner except Arrington.

He's been our nickel back for several weeks.

How can Adams suddenly not be good enough to be Edelman's backup at nickel back? Molden is McCourty's backup, only getting significant reps if McCourty is out. As another posted, McCourty and Arrington are not playing nickel. Even if Moore were better at nickel than Adams, Moore is needed as the number #3 safety. And all this assumes that McCourty and Chung are back starting.

It seems that there must be more to the story than simply that Adams had moved down the depth chart to #7 or #8 defensive back. Surely, we would keep Adams as the #7 or #8 defensive back if that were the only issue.

ONE POSSIBILITY
Adams has been assured that he will be back (has he cleaned out his locker?). Belichick simply needed the roster spot to try some one out for a few days.
When McCourty is back, Moulden is the nickel.

Perhaps the answer isn't how many snaps he played but HOW he played on them.
I don't recall his snap count being that high the last few games.

Re: Adams released

That tweet makes it almost certain that this was the result of something conduct related.

This is the coach who benches Wes ******* Welker for the start of a playoff game because of foot puns.

CB Kyle Arrington – 73 of 73
S James Ihedigbo – 73 of 73
S/CB Sterling Moore – 64 of 73
CB Phillip Adams – 51 of 73
CB Antwaun Molden – 48 of 73
S Sergio Brown – 32 of 73
CB Julian Edelman – 16 of 73

Re: Adams released

Beats me..... I guess I will have to wait and see what develops if anything.

Not one of BB's greatest moments

You sound like you think discipline is a bad thing for a football team.

Re: Adams released

The last analysis I saw of Molden's snaps was that he had significant reps only ehrn McCourty was out. When McCourty was in, Adams was in the nickel.

When McCourty is back, Moulden is the nickel.

Perhaps the answer isn't how many snaps he played but HOW he played on them.

From Erik Scalavino's twitter:

Phillip Adams' old locker now has #23 equipment in it. Safe to assume a new DB will be/has been added today.

Re: Adams released

Leigh Bodden's coming back...

Re: Adams released

Mike Reiss also tweeted that Belichick said at his news conference that the cut was made to make room on the roster. Honestly I don't see why some people are treating this like a big deal. Seriously. We should be excited about who they might be bringing in.

Do you mean "last few exclusive of the last"?

Chiefs
CB Antwaun Molden – 70 of 70
CB Kyle Arrington – 69 of 70
S James Ihedigbo – 63 of 70
S Sterling Moore – 59 of 70
CB Phillip Adams – 30 of 70
S Ross Ventrone – 18 of 70
CB Julian Edelman – 13 of 70

Jets

CB Kyle Arrington – 72 of 72
S Sterling Moore – 72 of 72
S James Ihedigbo – 70 of 72
CB Antwaun Molden – 46 of 72
CB Phillip Adams – 45 of 72
CB Devin McCourty – 26 of 72
CB Julian Edelman – 5 of 72
S Ross Ventrone – 2 of 72

Giants

CB Devin McCourty – 72 of 72
S Patrick Chung – 71 of 72
CB Kyle Arrington – 69 of 72
S Josh Barrett – 39 of 72
CB Phillip Adams – 35 of 72
S James Ihedigbo – 33 of 72
S Sergio Brown – 1 of 72

You can make the case that his increased workload was due to McCourty going down, but he played more snaps in the Giants game than he did in the Chiefs game.

This must have been an issue of discipline, because he was getting a fair amount of playing time.
