lol, careful.. that Jersey might come with a gunshot hammy as a free bonus.
Walking out of the Gillette Pro Shop with the Patrick Pass jersey, I dropped the bag with the shirt four times.

Perhaps I can keep the number 35, but change the name on the back from "PASS" to "FAIL"

LOL! Or an Incomplete Pass!

Now that was funny.

Heard that Patrick went into the Pats Merchandise Shop to drum up merchandise sales but only ended up getting in everyones way.

Someone said it was Pass Interference.

It's very unfortunate that we don't have an Assclown Asylum over on this site. The vote would not go in your favor, I believe.

And some others in this thread...

(I don't suggest wasting your time arguing with Keegs, either. It'll fly right over his head.)

Now that the "I'm bored, let's start a fight" faction seems to have exhausted itself; back to our regularly scheduled programming.

The Emotional part of myself says "Take I-Been-Shot Pass out behind the woodshed and put a bullet in his brainpan". The Rational part conceeds: good St player (esp as short receiver on KOs) , fine on screen plays, improving running the ball out of the backfield, decent receiver, wicked cheap contract, beneficiary of Bellicheck Impramatur to skills (He'll be a ten year player in this league etc)...

Why do I hate him so much?

Maybe because he sucks?

Well if the Pats had spent a 4th rounder on Jerious Norwood in addition to the 1st they spent on Maroney this Pats running game would be scarey good and Patrick Pass wouldn't even sniff the roster.

The reason why Patrick Pass is still on the roster is the same reason that Heath Evans is. They are both cheap insurance backs that can play in some situational roles.

You can't exactly stock your team with just all-pros. And sometimes you have to concede that some of the players at the end of the roster will kind of suck but if they can fill roles for you at low cost then you keep them.

Don't be so quick to make that assumption. Norwood and Pass aren't the same player at all.

In fact, having 4 HBs on the team (Dillon, Maroney, Faulk, Norwood) would be pointless. Somewhere in there, somebody who could line up at FB would be needed. Then, the battle would be down to Evans and Pass, not Norwood and Pass. Unless the Pats could afford to cut at other positions, it would be Norwood off the roster, not Pass.

I think we always know what we are getting with Pass. He is a 4th string running back and a good enough FB. He is the player you do not expect to get the ball a lot but can surprise the defense when he gets it. I think that is pretty standard for most players in his position on other teams.

The thing that bothered me in the Lions game is why give him the ball in such a tough position? Even knowing Maroney is hurt I do not agree with the call. My thought is this, he has not been in a game all year he has to be rusty. Feed him the ball after they have moved away from the end zone. Feed him the ball when there is a big lead and the game is pretty much over. Or (the best answer) don't feed him the ball at all. Let him block for Dillon.

I realize that he made some good plays later in the game but I still think he was thrown into the fire a little too fast.

Well, one thing we *do* know: Mills at this point is not better than Pass at any of the roles he plays. Otherwise, it would be Pass on IR and Mills on the 53. That's a dissapointment; another 4th rounder wasted (unless he miraculously improves next year). To make it worse I think we could have had Mark Anderson instead of Mills....Anderson...mmmmmmmm

Stop right there. Norwood was a high 3rd for the Falcons. We could have gotten him with our 1st third round pick if we hadn't of traded down for Jackso, but as it stood Norwood was not a possibility on draft day.

We don't know that Anderson, who is succeeding as an edge rush specialist with the Bears, would have the necessary skills to play as a stand-up outside linebacker for the Pats. If anything, we would exchanging Mark Anderson for Pierre Woods, and it seems Woods has more promise in our system than Anderson would, because when he is in the game he is always standing up and plays pretty well (for a big rookie conversion project) in space.

How the heck do you know that? Mills hasn't played much. How do you know how he compares?

Anyway, Mills is a rookie, so any analysis of his NFL career "at this point" is meaningless.

At the same point in Givens career (rookie year), he was horrible. Means nothing.

Maroney=rookie=active and contributing
Jackson=rookie=active and contributing(when not injured)
Thomas=rookie=active and contributing
Gostkowski=rookie=active and contributing
Andrews=rookie=active and contributing
Mays=rookie=active and contributing

Mills=inactive mostly then mysteriously "injured" when pass came off of PUP.

That's how I'm able to compare him.

Patrick Pass is crap.

He is the Sam's Club Diet Cola, of Diet cola's.
