He could be back. Now he has a background on whatever changes in the offense have occurred since he left. Now it could be its up to him to either get himself into NFL shape or not after a few years off. Wouldn't surprise me if that was the deal.

Let's see if we can generate as much to say about his re-departure as his re-appearance.

Unsurprising. Most of us here thought the odds were very long. The Patriots gave him a shot.

Now it's time to use those roster slots to sign the rookies.

Well, the whole Pass signing deserved a bit of a WTF as a mere fan not privy to BB's inner thoughts, so can't say I'm surprised he's released.

If they were thinking of bringing him back, why cut him? THey don't need the roster space.

I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a trend for the Patriots over the next few years. When a need arises, Belichick may dip back into the retirement pool to pull out a player that he knows can handle the system if he can physically handle the load.

I won't be surprised if this happens with Willie McGinest at some point.

One play I remember from years ago: Pass rolled out into the flat and Brady fell down but still threw a completion to him -- Brady's pass to Pass from his ass.
