    Ty Warren - Denver Broncos - 2011 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com

Too bad. I always liked Warren. Looks like he will miss another year of football. At his age, he might be done.

Sorry to hear that. I can't help but wonder if he showed up in shape if he'd still be on the team. I remember seeing a video on patriots.com where he said he wasnt lifting weights in order to increase his flexibility. I just thought it was a bit strange for a DL.

Didn't know that. It'd help explain how he cut down to around 285 pounds.

Knowing from working out with a trainer, too much weight training can make you very stiff. Big muscle bound guys usually have poor flexibility. You can get strength without losing flexibility through resistance training and other exercises.

    No Jersey Selected

Once again BB knew when to cut bait.

That's too bad for Ty though. Hope he can resume his career next season.

Injuries tend to snowball in the NFL.

One study shows that, after major surgery, 11.3% of players never return to the NFL, and 62.1% of players are gone from the league within three years.

True. They should take QBs and kickers out of the equation considering they take the least amount of contact.

Poor guy. I was wishing him well. Kind of makes cutting him seem like a good decision, though.

You can lift as hard and as much as you want and maintain full flexibility simply by stretching properly.

Ruptured the same about 20 years ago, cannot hold a small child in my right arm anymore for more than 2-3 minutes.. it is very painful and takes a while to heal.

Too bad for Ty he was a good Patriot..

True. Tim Ryan on SIRIUS NFL Network was at the Broncos camp, and commented on how out of shape Ty Warren was. Big boy comes in out of shape, I would think his chances of injury go up.

Grad school is a good option for Ty. If confirmed that it is a tear, he should quickly get surgery, write GRE, start a his masters degree, he can be done by next August.

What percentage of healthy players are out of the league after three years? I'd guess it's about half that. Most of the bottom half of league rosters seem to be newbies.

And the 89% return rate is remarkably high. Modern medicine!
