Re: Quentin Groves says he's been traded

He says he is going to Oakland, I wonder which one of our picks the jags are getting for him????

Re: Quentin Groves says he's been traded

LOL at his excitement!

Re: Quentin Groves says he's been traded

Well there goes our top 10 pick... my early prediction is it'll now be in the 25-30 range.

Re: Quentin Groves says he's been traded

In return a fifth-round pick in 2010 draft

5th rounder, so that would be from the Burgess trade I suppose.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic, right?

Raiders land DE Groves from Jags for 5th-rder - NFL- nbcsports.msnbc.com
Raiders acquired DE Quentin Groves in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2010.
Considering the playmakers acquired this spring for fifth-rounders, the deal is a steal for Jacksonville. Groves, a 2008 second-round pick, has flopped in his first two seasons, managing just 2.5 sacks in 31 games. In Oakland, he'll compete for snaps in the nickel package behind Richard Seymour Matt Shaughnessy. Groves is unlikely to solve Oakland's pass-rushing problems.

Seems like just yesterday when we were discussing whether or not the Pats should draft Groves . . .

The raiders are a mess, but consider:

1. He's moving from J-ville to the Bay Area. That's a step up, IMO, even taking weather into account.
2. He's moving from a team with no fanbase, to a team with a rabid fanbase. He will actually hear the hometown fans for the first time in his career.

I'm very glad the Patriots decided not to draft him a few years back...

I feel better.

How can only getting a fifth rounder for any reason be considered a steal? I seriously think Chris Mortensen has brain damage.
