If the Jets wanted to force a trade, Crab would first have to sign with the 9ers, and at that point they would not need to trade him.
If Crab sat all year he would then automaticly be eligible to renenter the draft, 9ers would be out there #1 pick, and the Jets would have to hope that Crab fell to them in the draft.
I just don't get it.
So PFT is a legitimate news source now that it's smearing the Jets instead of the Pats? Is that how this works?
so an ex Jet employee, beholden to Hess for his big break early in his career, sits in judgement of the Jets chief rival and roadblock in the division INSTEAD of recusing himself and turning the decision making over to an independent arbitrator? is that how this works???

....Yup....So PFT is a legitimate news source now that it's smearing the Jets instead of the Pats? Is that how this works?
What few seem to remember is that Zolak and Andy (Porky) Gresh on WSKO in Providence were also speculating that BB might be fired shortly after Spygate. In fact, Zolak seemed to support it.
...yeah, it's just not even worth responding to some people. Clearly, you don't get the point, but that's fine. I didn't expect that you would. From here on out I'm just going to put folks like you on ignore- rational discussion is a dead end.

Just like you left the "not" out of you "could care less," don't say "we" in a Pats forum. It makes it sound like you are a Pats fan. Got off easy with the draft pick for video-taping signals from the wrong location? A first round pick for filming from the sideline instead of the endzone like the Jets were doing is too light? Only a Jets fan's thinking would be that distorted.
Man up, even it you are a Jets fan. Say who you are. No one likes a sneak.
What in the world would lead you to make this conclusion? The fact that if the Patriots are involved in any sort of apparent scandal that our team, the head coach and the administration are hung out to dry both publicly and privately?Wow. You guys take paranoia to the next level.
If this were the Seahawks, you guys would care less.
LOL...you're right. Take away football, and he's as dumb as a rake handle.Zolak is good on the radio for football X & O's talk but he aint no rocket scientist.

Every time something involves the Patriots, a which hunt begins.. because unlike the Jets, we're a successful organization.
The NFL needs to crack down on their cheating arses and make an example, media market or not. That's why we have rules. They apply for everybody not just somebody when you feel like it.
I think saying that there's some kind of vendetta against the Pats within the league is misguided. IMO, it's in the media, and not for any particularly sinister reason. ESPN knows that most of the country hates the Pats on account of their success, and therefore they can get people talking and get tons of viewership by feeding them what they want: anti-Patriots horse****. As always, it's all about money.
I'm saying, there's been these allegations against the Jets repeatedly, you can't just sweep it under the carpet and not investigate.I think it is paranoia because of the huge leaps in logic at the beginning of the thread. I'm reading the argument as: The Jets weren't fined for tampering so Goddell must be in their back pocket. That's a huge leap of logic there. By the same logic Goddell must be in cahoots with Minnesota because there were no penalty to the Vikes for tampering with Favre. Could it be that there has been no penalty involved because tampering is hard to prove? The 49ers likely don't have a smoking gun to give to the league like Mangina did when he stabbed BB in the back. If such evidence surfaces, then of course the Jets should have the book thrown at them. But until that time, I'm not going to jump to ridiculous conclusions because of "a source with knowledge of the situation" says so. Instead I'm going to count down the days until the Pats get another chance to shut up that obese blabber-mouth coach ...
The Niners' rights to sign Crabtree would have expired around Week 10.
Their rights to Crabtree, though, would not expire until the 2010 Draft; after free agency began, the Niners would have been able to trade him at that point and recoup something.
Gunnails;1543370 By the way the only way I ever remember a team getting found guilty and punished by the Commish is when someone confess and admits to tampering. Like the 9ers did.[/quote said:Or when Favre fessed up that the Jets lied about his injury status.
So...unless a Jet stupidly fesses up about this Crabtree tampering charge it will go unenforced like when they tampered with Curtis Martin and with Deion Branch.
FWIW and future infomation, this isn't completely accurate. After Week 10 the 49ers could still have signed him to a 2010 contract, using part of their 2010 rookie pool (even though they would not receive any extra in that pool for him). The Niners' rights to sign Crabtree would have expired around Week 10.

That makes some sense. However your reply is not how I understood the situation.
I thought that if Crab did not sign he would not be tradeable because he is not under contract, and thus would be eligible for the 2010 draft.
So maybe we are both rite in that maybe the 9ers could trade there rite to sign Crab, at which point Crab could still choose not to sign,,,,argh.
