Let me preface by stating that this is how I understand the Pats draft. Every player has a value to the team. For instance if Calvin Johnson slides to 8 the Pats should seriously consider moving up to grab him since he is the #1 overall player on their board.

In that same manner, if the Pats use this board and nobody from the list is left @ 24 they should move down. If this is not possible they should select the best player available from the 2nd round draft board.

Note that I don't have every perceived first rounder here because I do not think they are all fits for the Pats. For example Alan Branch has a questionable motor which to me is a big no-no for a first round draftee.

Calvin johnson 1: best wr prospect I've ever seen
Adrian peterson 2: violent runner with great vision
Laron landry 3: ballhawkw/ measurables, experience, and character
Joe thomas 4: franchise LT, dante would need to make him meaner
Adam carriker 5: Closest thing to Seymour I've seen
Jamaal anderson 6: Another 3-4 DE with good motor
leon hall 7: my #1 corner
pat willis 8: best lb prospect in the draft, character is gold
joe staley 9: superb athlete with extreme potential for LT
marshawn lynch 10: great runner/compliment to Lawrence
    brady quinn 11: Franchise QB...
john beason 12: athletic lb with exp. in 3-4
puz 13: super productive lb with exp.
victor abiamiri 14: I think he can play 3-4 olb, super explosive
david harris 15: fits inside the 3-4 and has good speed
    revis 16: #2 corner
    griffin 17: athletic safety
blalock 18: best guard in this draft, very strong 40+ reps.

Which player have I overlooked here?
    Feedback?

Ryan Kalil should be on there based on talent. If we are going by best player available and not need.

Me too. The more I see draft evaluations, the more I am convinced the real value lies in round 2 and especially 3.

    Thank you.
    I agree completely.
There is value in round 1...
And if somebody the Pats have on their board slides down great.

But the majority of great value lie in rounds 2-3.
Lots of good-solid players which you can build a team around.

I think Okoye is top 15 and Spencer is 1st round material (Pats pick at 24). Abiamiri is not a 1st rounder. Also remember that Blalock was a left tackle that projects to G in the NFL (Light and Mankins were the same).

This is a pretty good board. I believe that the issue will not be whether anyone is left; I think there will be at least a couple. One issue hopefully will be whether we can trade down a few spots and still get two of our players. Another will be position. Consider that at 24, all the defensive backs on your list will likely be gone (as well as Ross and Nelson who I would add to the board) except for Griffin. Griffin would have to be a temptation at 24, especially if beason and harris and perhaps are a couple of others are still available.

I like Blalock, but only if he projects to also be able to play RT, which I think is a reasonable projection.

I would have the following on my first round board, making it a 23 man board.
This would make it a lock that we would be able to get one (Russell is going to be drafted in the top few) and make it likely that we would get two.

    Aaron Ross CB
    Reggie Nelson FS
    Lawrence Timmons OLB
    Gaines Adams DE
    Robert Meechum WR

I don't think Okoye fits in our scheme that well as a first round pick.
I see him as a warren sapp type player who penetrates. Tommy Harris type player. Not a player who can hold his ground. I think he's very talented which is why I gave him a top 2nd round grade. Again all my picks pretain to the Pats.

(getting everything below from my fav. site nfldraftcountdown.com)
    6-4 1/4 267. (willie was 6"5 270)
In terms of Abiamiri I think he's a player the Pats would/should consider.
He's known to be a great athlete.
    Long arms.
Packs a good initial punch which to me translates to being the first step in controlling the Tackle in holding the edge. You punch to neutralize, get position, and maintain outside leverage.
Fluid enough to drop into coverage.
    Good pass rusher.
Good tackler. Makes pays in pursuit.
Smart and hard worker with intagibles.
    Production against top competition.
Room to improve and get better. Still improving.

You are right in terms of Blalock. I think he could play RT as well adding to positional versatility in the OL.
