Good for you, although I think someone should tell you they don't play in Boston.

just FYI it's a royal pain to get from Boston to Foxborough on gameday. There's a train but it's crowded and runs only a few times before and after the game. If i were you i would get a hotel room in foxborough if there's one still available. Then grab a taxi to the game.

Great. Have a wonderful time. But, not only do they not play in Boston, they actually play about 30 miles south of Boston, a nice 40 minute or so drive without traffic (yeah, right, like at two in the morning) and a lot longer at game time. But, if you're planning on going out on Monday morning or early afternoon and spending the day in Foxboro, it probably won't be so bad. Allow a couple of hours to get back to Boston after the game though.

    Enjoy!

Just remember to replace your 'R's with 'H's in your vocab and you should be fine, you'll fit right in. Welcome.

    Enjoy! I'm jealous!

One of the best experiences I've ever had was making the trip up from North Carolina to watch the Patriots demolish the Jets 45-3 in person for a cold Monday night game two years ago. I still get giddy when I think about it. My voice was SHOT the next day. Don't blow out your voice at the Celtics game, save it for the Texans! :rocker:

I saw the Pats play at Boston College. That was a little while ago, though.

If you've never been to Boston, I recommend the Freedom Trail, the top of the Prudential, Harvard, Copley Square and museum of fine arts. If you try to do them all you will be tired. In wintertime, all the tourist stuff is hibernating but there is still some stuff to do. The Freedom Trail is a long day but is really worth it.

    I love Boston.

and take the train from South Station. Driving to the game is really bad. It takes hours to get out of there.

That is so wrong. Like conservation of mass-energy in physics, Rs are conserved. For every R dropped there are Rs added, e.g. Glorier, Cuber, idear, Liser, and so on.

Rather than the bad schedule train, or renting a lousy motel and then still needing transportation, rent a car for one day. Park over a mile south of the stadium for @25 or $35 (Chinese Restaurant with bathrooms). If you keep going closer rates suddenly hit $50 and post game exiting can become much more difficult when you don't know the quirks of the lot.

Walk up the sidewalk (wasn't there in years past) and stop in Rodman lot and intro yourself to tailgaters as a Gillette virgin out of towner. You'll have fun.

By the time you walk to your car, you'll be able to exit onto Route 1 and sit in the Route 95 traffic at ~30 mph back to Boston. Take maps as the return trip can be confusing esp when tired and whatever.

Dress with more layers than you think you'll need.
