This board is the NFL version of the Fall of the Roman Empire. We're 10-4. Our offense ranks fine in pretty much all the pertinent categories. And, yet. everyone thinks it blows. It makes one consider finding a crappy team to root for whose fans would actually appreciate a good season.
Now you're just speaking Gibbonish!

Uh, you think 209 return yards helped keep the offensive yards artifically low for the game.....

2006 scoring offense: 9th

2005 scoring offense: 10th
Per Reiss, we're only 4th best in the league on both sides of the ball :

Red zone efficiency
TDs scored -- 4th (60.4 percent -- 53 trips, 32 TDs)
TDs allowed -- 4th (36.7 percent -- 30 trips, 11 TDs)
ranked 3rd last week in TDs scored; 2nd in TDs allowed

We suck, we're down from last week's #3 :D
Geeeesh folks. That's not very nice to bring facts into a discussion and ruin everybody's pet peeves.

Sorry, but I agree with his comment about the Texans game.

230 yard of offense is pitiful, even with the good field position.

On four occasions our defense handed the offense the ball in Houston territory, and all they could do was move the ball a short distance , with very poor play calling I might add, and had to settle for 12 points out of a possible 28.

Against Houston we could get away with that kind of inept play calling...against Jacksonville, or any other decent team, we can't.

ANd believe me, it wasn't execution, as so many of you have made excuses for the play calling for...it was the same as before, only this time many of you are blind to it because of the 40 point game....

We could not maintain a long drive, innumber of plays, all day.

We had 14 posessions in the game.

Here is how much time we had posession, the number of plays, time ball held, yardage gained and the result.

4 1:57 12 punt
7 3:05 42 TD (Nice Drive)
4 1:15 6 FG (took over on their 24, only gained 6 yards)

2 :43 44 TD
3 2:23 0 Punt
7 3:05 17 FG (took posession at the Houston 31)
3 1.45 -4 Punt
7 3:31 31 TD (penalized 36 yards on this drive)
1 :10 -1 Kneel down

6 1:20 8 Punt
7 3:38 20 FG (took posession on Houston 29)
4 1:32 2 FG (took posession on Houston 5)

15 8:09 49 Kneel Downs, end of game

FOUR TIMES WE TOOK POSESSION ON THE HOUSTON 24, 31, 29 and 5 YL...and had to settle for field goals on each occasion.

That is horrible...and if we do the same against a better opponent, and dont get the help from defense, and special teams, it could be a bad outcome....PLAY CALLING NEEDS CHANGE,plain and simple.

NEM my fiend, NO It does NOT !! I'll take a 40-7 victory any day of the week.

With your idee fixe, there is nothing that the "senile old man" (EZ), the "high school fat slob", (CW), or the "snot nosed kid", (JM), could POSSIBLY do that would satisfy you.

Score 40 points? It ain't enough!

Win in a tight game? It should have been a blowout.

Nonsense.

Don't you see that you are creating the animosity that is absolutely uneccessary, from everyone, by idiotic threads like this ?

Why antagonize them? They know your opinion, already.

40-7 win, 0 turn overs and no big injuries. I'll take that any day of the week regardless of who the opponent is.

Go Pats Go.......
