Belichick will feel very safe that he'll have an NFL calibur RB all season as it's very unlikely these two and Maroney will both all hurt. Plus Jordan can backup up the receiving part of Faulk's game.
Barring an injury in camp, I see Evans as the one with the most potential to be cut. He isn't that great of a fullback and is a poor backup to Faulk in the passing game. Maybe Jordan can take over the limited FB duties, or they could cut that position out of their playbook. BB caters to the strengths of his personnel and I think Jordan would bring an edge to the power running game that we haven't really had since Dillon.
The real loss would be Evan's contribution to ST.

Cut Jackson, keep Jordan
I still see Morris getting cut unless Jordan struggles to pick up the offense or injuries. I still can't see them keeping 5 RBs.
I know people are saying it a lock that they keep 5 RBs. I can't see it ever being a lock that the Pats overload any position. There are far too many variables that play into the final 5 or so positions of the roster to ever guarantee one position will be overloaded. Odds are extra roster spots at the end of the roster will go to CB, LB, and o-line over RB at this point in the game. Any injuries in the preseason
People have also talked about how high Belichick is on Morris, but if that was the only variable in him making personnel decisions Milloy, Colvin, and McGinest would be on the roster.
I can only see both Morris and Jordan both on the roster if by some reason the Pats have extra space on roster or one of them can play FB and Evans gets cut. I only see overloading a position if it an area of weakness or you want to keep a developmental player. I don't see either being the case at RB.
I also didn't see anything out of Morris last year that Lamont Jordan hasn't done with lesser offenses. Not to take away from what Morris did, but Jordan is a better RB. That's why I think Morris will be the odd man out since they would both play the same role and Morris also has age, salary cap (his cap # is way too high to be the fourth or fifth RB), and injury concerns.
Rob take a deep breath and move away from the ledge...*somebody call 911 in the mean time* I think the Lamont Jordan signing have alot to do with Laurence Maroney...i don't think he's the kind of RB BB really likes. Maroney is not to be confused with the Power RB's BB likes. It took Maroney a while to get it going last year. This Offense really missed Sammy Morris in the short power running game after he went down with that injury. Didn't that Brady 3rd and 1 or less sneak got old in a hurry. Maroney wasn't that kind of back. I say they carry 4 RB's because Heath Evans sucks and won't be missed. BB is simple not taking any chances this year and i was surprised when they didn't draft a young RB. Lamont right now is better than any Rookie RB they woud have drafted.
