Coleman is signed through the 2015 season. He will be an ERFA next year which means that he has to accept the Patriots' tender offer in order to play next year.
So Coleman is pretty much signed through 2016 then if he's an ERFA.
Having Coleman, Butler, Roberts and Ryan next year is a great starting point. Add in a FA singing like Sean Smith and bring back Tarell Brown on a one year prove it deal, which he may be forced to take after going on IR, and we've got extremely good CB-depth for 2016.
I did not say that Coleman would not be an ERFA in 2017. He would be.Can you explain why Coleman is not an ERFA in 2017 since he will only have one accrued season after this year?
Coleman is terrible.

All I can say is that a source has told me that he is signed through 2016. It really does not matter if he is signed through 2015 or through 2016 since if through 2015 he will be an ERFA in March.
Ok.....just to clarify so I can understand:
Let's assume that Coleman has signed a one year contract. So that takes care of 2015.
In 2016, he would be an ERFA? Now for 2017, would he be an ERFA again as well since he would have less than 3 accrued seasons? So is it possible to be an ERFA 2 seasons in a row?
Then in 2018 he would have 3 accrued seasons and therefore be a RFA, correct?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Outside of Melvin, do we have ANY DB's that are over 6'. and over 200lbs Even our safeties are in the 5'11 range. They are doing very well right now, better than we expected, but they will be giving 6 inches or more to a LOT of receivers this season. That could be a problem down the road.
BTW- I love the great 3 cone times they have. I am a big 3 cone guy myself. To me it is a much better indicator of NFL success than the 40. Quickness and acceleration are more important that speed.
At least he was given a half season to prove himself. I'm glad you didn't rush to judgement.
He is the guy everyone picks on after they get tired of abusing butler
Our team sucks
