Well I'm elated by this news and I think it's been a long-time coming. Due to the nature of the offense that's been run here in year's past and the caliber of receivers Tom has had I think he's been discounted as league MVP for being a 'system QB' or some such nonsense.

I'm just glad it finally happened but it's a shame he had to rack up gaudy stats for it to come about.

First Patriot player to ever win it, and the right one. John Hannah has been called, or used to be called the best offensive lineman ever, but those guys don't win MVPs. Here's one for ya though, Joe Montana didn't win his first regular season MVP until his 11th season, 1989, and he won one other, in 1990. However, and yet another amazing similarity to Tom is that Joe won super bowl MVPs much earlier, in 1981 and 1984.
