Is Branch Worth Reggie Wayne money?

I think the key is paying what he is worth...Branch may think he's worth a lot more than the Patriots are willing to pay. SO basically it's who is unreasonable??? I don't think there's anyone who think he's NOT a number one receiver..and the Pat's best..but there are far less that think he's top 10 material. SO??? It's more how much..and what is reasonable. He's NOT in the Brady, Seymour group..but being paid fairly..of course.

ANDYJOHNSON: I'm with you right until you say that the Pats use the money to sign more big ticket players. They actually use most of their extra money to spread out amoung a decent middle class, and they hardly ever have many big ticket players.

This year is the exception simply because we have so much cap space available, so they can afford to pay a little extra for somebody like Branch.

Normally, though, the 'extra' money all is distributed evenly thru the middle class of the roster.

I agree with your overall assessment of the cap situation, and would like to keep Branch.

I say pay him. Simple and succint. Perhaps we wait it out a year, and franchise him next year, but I still say that at some point we need to get the deal done, just like we did with Sey. We got the cap to do it easily.
