I know the thought of rooting for Manning and the Colts is probably a disturbing one to many Pats fans...but I realize now that I want to see them win their divisional game when it comes time for it. Honestly, after having surveyed the talent of the NFL for the past 13 weeks, after destroying two out of the top 5 teams in the league (Cowboys and Steelers), wouldn't you feel cheated or disappointed if the Patriots and Colts didn't meet in the playoffs and some lesser opponent managed to knock either of them off? I'd feel robbed of a classic match-up and a classic game, as well as feeling robbed of what is right and approrpiate - that the two best teams in the game play each other. While I think the Pats are still on another level, the Colts are the closest to actually being on that level, and from there, the drop off is considerable. My respect for the rest of the league and the other so called "top teams", Dallas, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, declines on a weekly basis. I wish we could just fast forward to the AFCCG game and watch Brady and Manning go at it again. Everything in between now and then will be a bit perfunctory, and any outcome other than the said showdown will be annoying.
