gregory, white, edleman & hoomanawanui all out
Not that I'm that upset about it, but Edelman has been completely out of commission for some time now. That's one severe hand injury, or one typical concussion.
You'll know when Edelman is back in the lineup, as the offense will sputter and everyone will point fingers at Brady and McD.

I'm the opposite of upset about it. Every snap that Welker takes instead of Edelman makes the offense significantly better.

also means vollmer & mankins participated
Come on, don't be silly. At the very least Edelman is a significant upgrade over Branch, whose age is quickly showing.

Branch made a huge catch in that Broncos game, and he's serving as the 5th option generally. I don't have a problem with his play right now.
Oddly enough given his history, Edelman also makes him seem like an ironman in comparison.

Totally agree with you. I generally think of a 5th WR (especially in this offense) as a developmental guy since a veteran would pout getting 25% of snaps and 1-2 targets a game. With Branch willing to accept this role, he is the PERFECT player for this situation. Exceptional locker room guy, unique chemistry with the QB, sneaky route runner for when the defense forgets about him and clutch hands to make the catch when a throw does come his way.
To continue that line of thinking, doesn't it seem like the chemistry of the offensive players is outstanding this year. Branch accepting his role, Welker not being a PITA with reduced snaps, Lloyd's boundless enthusiasm (he was on the field helping Arrington up after the 4th quarter fumble before they even unpacked the pile). The RBs seem tight with each other regardless of who gets the snaps...even Vereen got some love after vulturing a TD in the 2nd quarter. There is only one football but everyone seems to be laser-focused on team success rather than getting their share.
