Gronk likely out for rest of playoffs.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

Pretty damn insulting to a guy that takes so much punishment and has played through pain this season.

Glass goes to guys like Ras-I who haven't been able to show anything.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

You should have resisted.

We can score 41 points on a top 5 defense with possibly the best defensive player in the league and still have Gronk and Edelman and a draft to add to next season

I think we'll be ok :)

Re: Rob Glasskowski

Sorry. I couldn't resist.

Nothing gold can stay. I guess it was too good to be true that we were entering the playoffs in virtual full health (no offense julian and Ras-I etc.). Hopefully our offense can overcome the loss and our defense can play their best football when it matters most.

Youre blaming a guy who wanted to come back and play so the team would win?

Isnt that what you would do? He just got a new contract.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

Pretty absurd contention.. some call that self control.

Even calling Dowling and Edelman made of glass is as absurd, as the average length of this violent game is about 3.5 years... injuries happen.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

Obviously poking fun at the posters who criticize guys who get injured. Reasonable questions for the docs though, as we now know why he favored his arm so uncomfortably last week: Gronk was obviously not ready to return. this is confirmed by the fact that the fractured opened again with a routine fall. 2 questions are: 1. why couldn't they see he was not healed? 2. why was the the surgery so ineffective after a period the thought he should be healed (6 weeks?)? A real shame to lose such an important player when everyone thought he should have been ready. Won't get these answers though.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

I wish they would have started him just blocking and slowly got him involved ,,just like the Miami game. Just unlucky on that play wide right where he had to leap on a ball that would have been out of bounds and land hard on his injury. Just plain unlucky. God we will still miss him for the Big one.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

They should have used him in Goal Line packages I had no idea his arm still required more healing.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

At least Gronk gets to spend time with porn stars a few weeks earlier this season. Enjoy your time off Gronk!

No Gronk... no Super Bowl :cry2:

Foolish statement. Banjo, if you are sitting their saying the Patriots cannot beat the Ravens without Gronk then you need to start changing the channel from the Kardashians and expand your reading beyond The Enquirer. You lack any feel of what the remaining playoff teams are capable of. Fyi, the closest thing to gauging a team's ability to win (used by Vegas) says the Patriots are likely to beat the Ravens. Now that doesn't mean anything on the actual field but it certainly suggests a Patriots win is not unlikely.
IF the Patriots beat the Ravens they are now in the Super Bowl. You were around for 2001? Whatever the Patriot opponent in the SB, there is no chance the Patriots will be remotely close to being as unlikely to win as they were against the Rams. So what happened in 2001?

You are letting the single disappointing development with Gronk become WAY too important. Buck up! Drop the doom and gloom fear, and enjoy the ride. The Patriots are capable of beating any team just as they are. That isn't homer-ism, that is fact.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

He didnt need to put his damn arm out, I wish the Pats would get some Judo guys in there to teach the players how to breakfall.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

I’m not sure if my memory betrays me here or not, but I don’t think I have ever seen Gronk line up wide out like that. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, and it’s easy to criticize from my comfy couch, but why would you let him run this route in the first place. 80% of these routes end up in this exact landing situation (because of a very narrow landing strip) – on your side, on your arm, on your back…. TOO ****ING RISKY! Just use him with his usual tricks between the seams.

Just a plain waste of arguably our best offensive weapon

Sorry, I just had to vent here.

And for all those ‘orthopedic experts’ who claimed that it cannot be re-broken, well then…. I’ll be damned… there you have it.

And lastly for Gronk himself… I just feel so bad for him. The poor guy plays with so much passion, and there he is, possibly about to miss on being 100% (or even 1% for that matter) in another Superbowl… :( Really wanted to see him spike a few in the playoffs :(

Re: Rob Glasskowski

And we do not even know if it is the same injury.. or a different one.

Whenever someone writes something as idiotic as the title of this thread, I ask them one question: Would you say that to Gronk's face and then go out to the parking lot to back it up? Yeah, right. My money would be on the guy with the broken arm. Get lost.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

i think there were still problems with his arm before the game. on a run attempt before that ill-fated pass, he still used just one arm to block. he could have easily used two on his defender but kept his injured arm down. i thought the bone is either healed or still broke, not sure how he could be medically cleared if that arm broke again so easily

Also, the ongoing injury problems of Gronk and AHern may change the Welker contract situation.

It's one thing to believe the team can replace Welker with Edelman and the TE party, but if the TE party is never healthy, the situation is completely different.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

Not sure how they thought a TE can be affective with a forearm not 100 percent. Its one of the main tools in wham blocking even engaging a LB on a route to get seperation. I cannto say I am suprised about the outcome really.

Re: Rob Glasskowski

I blame the doctors, now way he should have rebroke it if it was fully healed.

I too am wondering how it re-broke that easily, it was fractured almost 2 months ago, should've had plenty of time to have healed.
