I wonder what Vince thought about this.
It's gonna be interesting how this works out. I can't imagine the Pats resigning all of their marquee FAs next offseason because of Brady's looming contract extension coming up too. Out team will definitely lose some key players next year. I hope our young guys show they can play this year.

I don't think the Pats are going to [lose] too much talent, at least during the 2010 offseason. Presuming that the NFL is playing without a cap, we will be looking at 2 franchise tags to use, plus players will need 6 years of service to be UFAs.
If my understanding is true, both Wilfork and Seymour can be tagged, should they fail to be extended. Mankins, the remaining free agent whom I would consider a pivotal piece of the team, can be retained one more year at a reasonable RFA salary.
As far as I understand, the Pats will be pretty well protected, at least for the 2010 season.
