After the Dugger extension and some other recently DT deals I thought we can use this thread to discuss possible Barmore Deals.

In the Screenshot below you can find an updated List of the current DT contracts including fully guaranteed, total value and years. Source: Spotrac

Derrick Brown just got extended and is not included, see Link below

Who’s his agent? Obviously any player is looking at that hundred million thresh hold is seeing that line unfortunately.

One thing for sure is we are going to see a super motivated Barmore this season.

With the comps listed above I’d say $23m a year avg.

klutch sport group from what i found on google

Justin Madabuike's Deal is i think a good comparison. He is also a good pass rushing DT like Barmore (had 13 sacks last year, the years before meh). He got 4 year 98 Million.
Barmore is only 24 years old currently, we night be able to secure a 5 year deal if it pays him roughly 22-24 Million per year i think it would be good.

That's what it would look like.

$19.5M-$22M AV seems about right as both sides should be highly motivated to get something done. If Barmore plays next season at the same level he did in 2023 the cost of re-signing him will go up exponentially with other teams competing for his services. The time to get his deal done is now, the Pats are the only team that can put more than the $2.8M his current contract calls for in his pocket this year. For any player the potential windfall of FA may be a heady prospect but there's also the inherent gamble that comes with every snap. No one is in a better position to understand the risk more than the guy taking it.

I think he’s looking at the Quinnen Willisms deal, 24 million per.

its krafts money... so ****'em... don't care what it is as long as it happens. make him fat happy and rich before someone else does.

Too expensive for Kraft. He will take a bag of chips for 2 years, and like it....

An extension that would triple his salary this year would look better for future cap hits.

I agree. If we plan to sign him next year we should do it now. We can spread the cap over 1 more year, pay him 1 year early so a discount for that and cap will be higher next year so we would pay more for that too.

With a few DTs signing big contracts this offseason Barmore and the team should both have a good idea what his contract will look like. I think they’ll get something done before the draft or soon after.

Brown had 2 sacks, 12 hits, 27 hurries, 6 batted and 53 stops in 2023 in 938 snaps

Barmore had 8 sacks, 7 hits, 34 hurries, 5 Batted with 40 stops and 1 FF in 750 snaps.

Brown's contract should be the MINIMUM that Barmore gets. I don't see him getting 75M guaranteed, but 65-68 is very possible with 32M of that being Signing bonus paid this year is more than doable.

i don't have grades as a support but... this is my guess

Brown plays the NT with the Panthers. He faces a lot of double teams and is a great run stopper. His role is to free up to other guys on third down.

maybe you have pff access and can bring some light on it.

Before we sign him to an extension or any new deal, I'd get the best knee specialist/specialist's there is/are and have his knee checked out thoroughly (and whatever other physical concerns there may be).
