Gaston Gazette: Panthers are "aggressively" pursuing Randy Moss

IMO Moss is the greatest WR of all time. He deserves every penny. If he does care about a couple million, I hope the Pats give it too him. I don't care if he cares about money, all I care about is having him on this team.

I thought or read San Diego was another team pursuing him hard? I find all this laughable as 90% of the NFL said he was a cancer and washed up when the Pats acquired him...look at them all getting the "cialis 4 hour erection" over Moss now....NEWSFLASH...a stud quarterback is required people.
San Diego will never sign Moss. NEVER. They saw what he could do to a team when he was with Oakland. He worked in NE because of two men, Brady and BB. Anywhere else, and maybe even here eventually, dude is a cancer. If anyone but the Pats sign him it will be a big mistake. Additionally AJ hasn't signed a big name free agent since he was named head coach and they are pretty happy with their wide receiver corps. Just goes to show, rumors are worth squat.

1. Sign Moss
2. Trade for Lito
3. Trade down in the first round picking up a proven ILB in the process

I couldn't agree more....

sure. him and steve smith will get along well as they will share the ball...geez.
Although I agree that Moss is better suited for NE, and NE only, it's not for the reason you say. Moss was not used that much in many of the games in the late season and the playoffs due to teams taking him away. He would only do that for one QB and coach, Brady and BB.

Also the Panthers recently signed Muhsin Muhammad right? So I doubt they are looking to pile in more big bucks at WR.

Searched the Gazette a few minutes ago, found no mention of Randy Moss.

Is there a link someplace? Did I miss it?

he would get along better with T.O then he would steve smith i dont see it heeping

If the Pats lose out on Moss, it will sting, but, he is on the downward side of his career.

He does have a penchant to be a cancer in the lockerroom because of his attitude and ego problems.

I really don't care either way if he stays or goes.

If you over pay for him... would he just go back to his past ways?

That scenario isn't a good one.

I can see why the Pats are doing this... it is the smart way to play out things.

I fully support the thinking of the Belioli team on RM. As much as I love watching the guy play, defense should be our #1 priority, imo.

Yes, but how could you let the offense become THAT weak. No Moss and Stallworth will mean this offense probably won't average even 24ppg next season, a HUGE decrease.

I understand why we need to improve the defense, but it still was the number #5 ranked defense in the league this past year.

If anything, we need to improve our blocking. That is the reason we lost the SB. The Defense gave up almost 1/2 as many points in SB42 than the '01, '03, and '04 teams did. It was a fluke loss.

Yeah, I'm sure his career will thrive with Jake Delhomme at the helm instead of Tom Brady.

What a stupid move this would be on his part.

This is the kind of move that pretty clearly advertises that, to Randy (if made), Money > SB ring + Hall of Fame.
