Does anyone have a list of which players on the AFC squad that BB is coaching are scheduled to be Free Agents this year?
Just thinking the confluence of potentially a lot of cap money available and the fact that AFC practices are running long (and some are complaining) may have a shred of meaning.

    He's considered a long-shot to re-sign.

Ngata and Bailey are the interesting ones. If they go all Rodney Harrison and actually take the Pro Bowl seriously, the chances of them joining the Patriots goes way up.

I really don't understand why people think Ngata won't just re-sign.

If Lamarr Woodley makes it to Free Agency, the second the clock strikes midnight his ass better be on a chartered plane to Foxboro. When he gets there, they shouldn't let him leave until they have a deal in place. He solves that pass rush problem instantly, can play the pass, and with the flexibility they have financially it would be a major let down for him to not suit up for us.

You do understand that other teams would like his services too....it's not like other teams aren't willing to offer him a bigger contract than we would.

Everyone said the exact same thing about Adalius Thomas.

Actually, they said even more. All we heard about is how he can even PLAY CORNERBACK AND SAFETY OMG OMG !!!

The last time he coached the Pro Bowl he made all nicey-nice with Adalius Thomas. We all know how that worked out.

Yeah I suppose it would be better to avoid signing any big time FA OLB. We tried it once recently and it was a disaster so it can clearly never work out. That's just the dynamic of it. Every big time FA OLB is destined to be just awful and therefore we shouldn't bother with it. Ever.

It sure will be fun to talk about how we still need a guy who can get to the QB next year though!

It was more of a euphemism for "they should do whatever it takes" and less of a manual for signing him.

I thought Thomas was an extremely productive player in 2007. He got hurt in 2008, and went off the rails in 2009. I was really excited about the signing, and excited about him as a player, especially after 2007. At the end of the day, he made about $25-million as a Patriot*, and was a bad signing. I would've considered him a good signing if we won in 2007 even with the cash that went his way for what was really only 1-1.5 years of very good-awesome production.

I don't know how much of that 2008 salary he made considering he was injured for 6-7 games. I estimated he took all of it in the figure above.

I agree, he was a beast in 07 and 08. Had the giants not held on eli's "Miracle" escape he may of gotten his 3rd sack of the game and super bowl mvp.
