Sorry if this has been talked about already.

So far since the game, I've read three articles talking about basically the same thing: the Pats offense looked out of sync. The main topic is how the team looked post-Moss. The articles throw a bunch of stats out there showing how Brady did throwing between the numbers when Moss was here and how he struggled a bit in this one.

I'm certainly not saying Moss being gone had no impact. It'll take some time to get a good flow with the revamped offense. However, even as a Patriots fan, I found it almost insulting that not one person in any of these articles I've read at least mentioned that it was the Baltimore Ravens defense. Aren't they, you know, pretty good?

Again, if I was a Ravens fan, I'm sure I wouldn't like reading implications that the Pats O only struggled because Moss was gone. It would be like us putting up 50 on a team in the middle of the 2007 season and the only thing mentioned after the game was how the other team's safety didn't play and how that impacted the defense.

Just a thought, but maybe they were a little rusty going against a very very good defense. And it took Brady and Branch about four quarters to finally got in synch like they use to be.

That's funny because right before the game I took them out as my ff defense and replaced them with the Saints D.
Worked out very well, though I still lost my game.
I'm sure the Ravens will get it together but remember... they just played the Patriots in Foxboro which is going to make any D's stats take at least a bit of a dip.

Yup, considering they were allowing 14.4 PPG going into yesterday's game would indicate to me that they are pretty good. We were over a +8 in scoring differential, anytime an offense can do that it has to be considered a good day.

The Patriots scored a TD more than the Ravens typically allow.

The Ravens held the Pats to a TD less than they typically score.

Give them both credit. Two very good teams.

Well, honestly, it's a bit of both but I think the problem is the OL more than anything.

For one, yes they have been having a good season. But both games against tough blitzing teams, they struggled. Brady normally shoots his passes in there, and while receivers literally dropped balls that hit their ******* numbers, Tom was off a lot of the day because he wasn't comfotable. We really struggle up the middle, and it's all around Koppen.

This guy has been terrible since the 07 super bowl. Everytime we face a good NT, we know Koppen's not going to put up a fight, he's going to get thrown around. All day they couldn't run BJGE up the middle because the middle of our line was getting annihilated. Ngata is a beast, no doubt. But I would imagine a better center would have helped our running game work better. We had NO push whatsoever up the middle.

I don't even want to get into the play where Koppen dosen't even attempt to block his guy and gets Brady crushed. Not only was he sacked, but this took the team out of Ravens territory almost. Theyre started the drive at mid field and had the game won. Normally it's Light who gives up the big sack, but Koppen just topped his terrible day off. We really need to improve at the center position.

But man, Ngata is a beast. There is no better NT in football. I've never seen a 3-4 NT so disruptive, but maybe it was helping him he had a fat girl (Koppen) infront of him?

Ngata is the best in football, but a better center would have made the matchup less one-sided.

Its far too uncommon to see "fans" actually give the other team some credit. Whether its when we lose to the Jets, or us beating the Fins and Ravens, the losing side always pollutes the internet/blogosphere with reasons why the other team isn't "actually good."

The Ravens played great, we just pulled it out. They were strong on both sides of the ball, are still an elite team, and I sure as hell don't want to play them again.

    Hey guys

Helluva game yesterday! Sucks to lose a game when you're up 10 points heading into the fourth, but that's how Brady rolls, it shouldn't surprise anyone. Pats definitely outplayed us yesterday, at least when it really mattered.

As for the topic at hand, the media has been talking crap about us ever since Rex Ryan left. We're used to it, so I could care less what they say. We know we're still one of the top three, arguably even the best, out there, even though we sure as hell didn't show it at the end of the game (thanks Brady haha...)

So I'll give my impression of what I think after yesterday's game.

New England's offense looked rough the first half...to be expected when you're playing a top defense, regardless of who's at QB.
But, NE showed once again why Belichick and company are the best in the business, because the second half, despite some CRUCIAL drops, you made some great adjustments, and flat out executed.

    Here's something to chew on.

Since the year 2000, the Ravens are 82-7 when entering the 4th quarter with a 10 point lead. We depend on our defense (and running game) to ice the game for us, and as that stat above indicates, it is nearly impossible to do what the Pats did yesterday against us.

So now you have a little something to throw in the faces of people who still doubt the Pats.

congrats on the win, see you all again in January!

I can see the Ravens buzzsawing through the rest of their schedule and meeting the Pats again in the playoffs. Based on yesterday's game, they're a dominant team, and home field advantage might be the difference.

That's what I'm hoping for...it would be very fitting for a rematch in the playoffs after the game we just saw yesterday.

I hope to god NE takes the division. I'm so sick of hearing about the New York Ravens. Err...Jets.

What a great post. Civil after a tough loss. We don't always get that around here. Hope, you join us more often. The only thing that changed in my mind as it relates to top teams, is that Baltimore is still one of the best, and now, the Patriots are a consideration.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. There aren't a whole lot of fans that would take the high road after a loss such as Sunday's that had to be very difficult for you and your fellow fans to watch and discuss.

Good luck against Pittsburgh later this season, would love to see the Ravens sweep them. The way you feel about the Jets is about the same as many if not most here feel about the Steelers.
