The way I see it, I have numbered the potential 2009 NFL starting QBs in order (being prejudice, TB is #1) of quality. These are based a little on last years production, age, experience, was the player just a caretaker, etc. This was not hype, arm strength or potential. It was leadership and ability to run an offense. The last few teams I did not list because they simply are not going to go with what they have or shouldn't.
In my list, Orton is ranked #17 or about mid pack. Should the Broncos give away their two #1's to get to Sanchez? Or should they see if Orton can pick up the "Pats system" playbook and jell the offense into a team, not a one man show. He is a tough kid.
Here is another shocker. What if Mcdaniels trades Orton? Would he consider Matt Gutierrez in a trade with the Pats for second string behind Simms until Sanchez is ready? Matt knows the system and the Pats might take a pick from Josh.
Thoughts?
