Yeah-Bledsoe has weaknesses. But FWIW-

1. Don't 6 or 7 (successful)teams have 50 year old QBs? Denver, Baltimore, Minny, and Washington are all doing pretty well with their oldsters.

and 2. In all fairness, alot of the blame was due to the lazy and poor game planning by the Dallas coaching staff.

a. It's no big secret that the Eagles LOVE to blitz-so why did Tuna and Sparano keep calling plays with an *empty* backfield? Honestly-even Brady would shudder at this thought.

b. 90% of the time-Owens was lined up on the weak side. Any idiot would line him up in other places and move him in motion(to, of course, create mis-matches).

c. Parcells is the "Smartest Man in Football", and that's a FACT. However-this has been an ongoing issue in his tenure here-his FAILURE to make adjustments.(i.e. too stubborn) Dallas has had alot of 2nd half meltdowns b/c of just that-teams KNOW their schemes.

Don't know if the game has passed the Fan Man by. Don't know if what he has pales in comparison to when he had Bill B/Weis/Chrenel/Grogh/Coughlin, etc has his lieutenants.(1/2 of his staff here in Big D had recently been fired TWICE by others).

But blaming Drew for alot of meltdowns is not even 1% of their equation, IMHO.

Good points all Tuna Hater but we patsfans have seen enough of Drew to know that when you really need him to make the critical play, he's about a 50-50 proposition. Now that may be good in comparison to other QBs...I dunno. We here have been spoiled by a QB who will make the critical play somewhere on the order of 80-90% of the time. Can you win the big one with Drew? Maybe, he's as good or better than 50% of the guys out there.

As far as Tuna goes, who knows at this point. He certainly had a pretty good security blanket when he had BB as DC as CW as OC didn't he?

We had 9 years to gather all of this negativity (which is probably lingering frustration from that time period more than anything else), we watched Bledsoe kill us in the most crucial moments of big games time after time. So we do get some enjoyment out of watching it unfold in a different city. Ask the Bills why they have so much negativity. People fall in love with his natural talents but he will kill you with his decision making, i.e. Sunday evening in the red zone.

Bottom line: Drew has never seen a triple coverage that he felt he couldn't beat with his arm.

This is probably the wrong forum to expect a lot of Bledsoe defenders, oddly enough. The guy took the team to a Super Bowl that New England might have won if they could have made a special teams play, and that's not enough for far too many New England fans.

Bledsoe has two major flaws: He's got the Favre arm and gunslinger mentality, and he's terribly immobile. He has a third flaw which is that he's a bit slow to check from his primary receiver, but that's partially a function of the "look long" mentality, and more of a result than a flaw. However, even with those flaws, he's still had a great career, and will still make Dallas a threat in the playoffs if his offensive line learns how to pass block against a middle blitz, and Owens stops acting like a child.
