Congress must launch LEAGUE WIDE investigation

agreed, but on the other hand a george mitchell style probe into the inner workings of the NFL might be the only thing that restores our reputation at this point..

Why does everyone asusme a probe would be league wide? The Mitchell probe was not leage wide. It was 100% centered on the NY Mets clubhouse because their steroid pusher was under indictment. It then moved from there to Brian Mcnamee because the Met guy had given the Feds Mcnamee to try and save his own skin. And then it ended right there.

Around the Horn can't let this go because they are simply the most sorry show on television, starting with Woody Paige.

I happen to think that evidence leaked of a few other teams doing basically the same damn thing (or worse) would go a long way to ending this entire matter.

That, along with solid football explanations of exactly what this scouting information really amounts too (not much as a matter of fact).

Without both of those things happening, the issue will never be put in the proper perspective.

I doubt that. There has been many leaks about teams cheating since Spygate first broke and they have gone largely ignored or at best a minor blip on the radar including the Jets videotaping the Patriots, Indy pumping in crowd noise, Fisher and Dungy colluding on the results of a game, Denver videotaping a Chargers' practice, 49ers tampering with Lance Briggs, etc.

Sorry, the media are only interested in the Patriots cheating at this point and time. Unless you can produce a smoking gun against someone else, the media doesn't care about any other team's allegation of cheating.

No, I assume the probe would be focused on the Pats, and that would be ridiculous.

The Senate wants no part of this, I'm just trying a different approach here.

The only perspective we have now is the unprecedented fine imposed by Goodell to make it appear as though this was a high crime. Why be afraid of gaining broader perspective? It won't be a popular idea, b/c everyone piling on and pointing fingers will suddenly have to answer the same questions.

It's like the scene in Lethal Weapon when Gibson is out on the ledge trying to talk the jumper down in a gentle way but realizes the guy isn't listening, so he calls his bluff, grabs him with crazy eyes and screams, "LET'S DO IT, LET'S JUMP!"

it's reverse psychology.
