The Colts are just too banged up to be scared of. I don't think we let our guards down again like we did in Cleveland and we demolish the Colts. I expect Brandon Tate and Aaron Hernandez to take big roles in this game. Anyone else getting the feeling that the Colts are going to get squished?

Wait and see... And because some of you guys are ignorant, this post is stating MY PREDICTION and not that this is going to happen.

I don't have a feeling but I do see us slaughtering the Colts.

I'm sure this is the last thing BB wants anyone to read.

We owe this team big time, that we all know, but let's stay humble, banged up or not, this is the Colts and #18 is still under center.

It doesn't matter who is hurt, this is the best rivalry in sports and both teams are going to show up. In 2006 an undermatched Patriots team took the Colts to the brink in the AFC championship game, in 2007 an undermatched Colt team had a ten point lead on us with 8 minutes left, in 2008 a Patriot team without Tom Brady nearly upset the Colts, and in 2009 a Patriot team in a down year was one play away from beating a nearly undefeated Colt team that eventually lost in the superbowl (and to this day I will tell you Faulk had the first down). The game is going to be a battle and it is going to be close, but its our year and Tom Brady and company will come out on top.

This is reminding me way too much of an infamous thread that was started just before the Cleveland game.

No it won't, this game is always close(in reg season anyways aside from 05). Even with matt cassel it was only a 3pt game. I expect somebody to win within 7. I will not be at all shocked to see indy win. But I'm confident pats can pull it out. 21-16 pats imo. It won't be easy.

Fish get squished. Colts get ground-up into dog food. But caveat emptor - dogs who consume it are likely to choke to death.

Hey guys, you can all say that you don't care about injuries or about how great this rivalry is which I agree to, but this is just my prediction of this game. Didn't you guys know? I am a psychic. I also said that Brandon Tate and Aaron Hernandez will play a large role in the offense this Sunday, just watch. I also am not dissing the Colts in any way. I respect their team and organization, but I am just getting these vibes that they are going down... way down.

never said it would be but Im not starting threads calling a Pats-Colts game a beatdown. It should be a close game but for your credibility's sake the Pats better not keep the Colts in it.

Disagree. The Indy team that I have watched is still pretty damn good, and has just a good a chance as anyone to repeat as AFC champs.

Not sure that we should buy into the whole 'beat up' thing too much, as they still have Freeney, Mathis, and Hughes on the D line. Also still have Manning's top 3 WR targets in Wayne, Collie (who practiced today), and Garcon.

Considering they rarely ever have Bob Sanders, who is 'really' missing here besides Dallas Clark? And besides, Manning has transformed the new TE into a playmaker already, all you have to do is look at the stats. With an offense of Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, Austin Collie, and the new TE, how is it that much different?

Why I'm for these threads: Because we're allowed to think for ourselves and not be slaves to the notion that if we don't think every game will be a "war", then we are being disrespectful and dumb. Any Given Sunday principle always applies but we're allowed to believe in our team.

Why I'm not for these threads: Because it would technically be hypocritical to flame a fellow Pats fan if that fan predicts doom instead of outright victory. And I won't lie I hate those types of threads, but an opinion is an opinion even if it isn't well-received. There are too many mixed messages and it's best we keep things simple.

My stance is neutral. I always hope for the best, but my confidence level will vary from week-to-week, and I know I'm not alone in this regard. This week, the OP is supremely confident, but is being flamed for it (by some, not everyone). I don't want to imagine what feedback he'd get if his prediction was outright negative.

The infamous Browns prediction thread was humorous in that the OP faceplanted, but let's not pretend for a second that a message board thread jinxed the Pats. There was no doubt some Browns fan somewhere that predicted a blowout win, and that mythical fan ended up smelling like roses. And of course had absolutely nothing to do with what transpired on the field. The superstituous crowd needs to get a grip on reality. Having said all that...

Obvious trolls aside, we should try to relax a little more. This has the potential for a special season. Let's not diminish that for ourselves by such trivial things. If the Pats win, we'll be overjoyed, and if they lose we'll be outraged. Nothing CheeseMonkeys, or anyone for that matter, says will change that fact. I love you guys, let's get a group hug going! (or not) :D

tl;dr - We should try to go easy on the OP because it's only his opinion and doesn't look like a troll attempt.

Edit: The above reply by supafly is a perfect example of how to handle a disagreement. And I'm not insinuating that we don't already do so. I'm just illustrating my point. Thanks guys, and let's see Satan Manning get sacked (repeatedly) this Sunday! Sorry for the essay, I'll get off my soap box now. :D

Peyton Manning is right there with Brady both in skill and as a competitor....any team with Manning or Brady QB'ing them is always a threat.

    Didn't the Brown's game teach some people anything.....Colt McCoy....hmmmmm.....Peyton Manning.....hmmmmm

I would love to see a first-class beatdown of the Dolts, but I doubt it. I'll be very thrilled with a W........

After putting up almost 40 on an opponent with a much better defense, along with the fact that this is a home game, not a dome game, I'm very confident.

My only worry is the zebras throwing flags for the Colts, and even then, we have the superior team this year to overcome BS calls.

I'm thinking 41-31 Pats...a lot of that 31 coming in junktime, scaring most Pat fans since we all know what Peyton is capable of, but it won't be enough.

This is basically why I am getting the vibe that we are going to dominate the Colts. I think some people here just like to ***** and bash other people's ideas/thoughts. It isn't that far-fetched to think the Pats wlll own the banged up Colts at home this Sunday.

Don't get me wrong, OP. I hope that you are right (obviously), and your opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. I am just not fully buying into the whole 'poor banged up Indy' theory, because they still have Manning, and 4 very viable receiving targets + the same old bookend DE's on the line.

Hope you are right, and they blow them out, but this one will be a very tough game--just like most of them!! (IMHO)

Kinda OT but, I actually had a conversation with my friend about the Colts injuries and I was saying this exact thing. He just kept saying that without Clark, Collie and Addai thats like Brady missing Hernandez, Welker and Taylor and Brady probably wouldnt do that good without those 3. I made that point about their defense too and our injuries on defense but he didnt buy it. (hes a Raiders fan btw)
