I agree....but I think they should have even kicked the FG the 2nd time down there. They had all 3 time outs and the 2 minute warning left. Like you said, needing the TD and the 2 pointer..just for the tie? Getting the 2 pointer IMO is just as hard as getting the TDYou have to take the points there. You have to.
The thing is, we were down by 8. As we saw, even with a touchdown, it's still comes down to a coinflip to decide if we are successful on the 2-point conversion or not. If you're Belichick there, you have to assume that you're going to have to score twice to win.
I mean, suppose they score a TD and complete the 2PC successfully. Then what? It's 20-20. You still need another score to win the game. Best case scenario is basically taking is it to overtime.
The big thing to remember is that, yeah, we stopped Denver time and time again late in the game. However, they had a lead and were running out the clock at that point. If it were 20-20, they would've been much more aggressive.
Awful, awful decision. I understand going for it on 4th down the second time, but when we went for it with like 6 minutes left it was egregiously bad. This isn't hindsight bias. I thought this at the time too.
Another compelling argument. You're really compelling us with all this sports knowledge you claim you have.dumb
why don't guys take a look at what ACTUALLY happened instead of making such a stupid argument.. What actually happened was the Pats D got us the ball back TWICE after that. One of those times we scored a TD but guess what we were still down 2?? huh that's weird. Now if they had kicked that FG?? Come kids you can do better than that.Thank you. What if we score a FG but give up a TD. Now we're down 12. Now what?
give it up kid you have no clue what you are even trying to say. The Pats needed those 3 points and it was obvious.

Taking the 3 was a no brainier there. Really horrible coaching decision not too.
Only if you subscribe to the idea that ultra-conservative, don't-lose-until-you-have-to-because-less-criticism is the only way to coach. He saw the way the game was going and moving the ball had been a struggle. He was trying to WIN the game. I don't begrudge him that. I never will. Many games NE has won because BB has a sack the size of Jupiter, but those decisions get glossed over and rolled into the record book without specific fanfare. When it doesn't work out people want to crucify him, I get it. Dude ain't scared of criticism or losing, it's a big reason he wins MORE THAN ANYONE EVER. Deal with it, or root for someone else.Everyone on this board that praises BB for his great decisions, consistently refuses to critique him for his bad one. The 4th and 2 and the 2 FGs today were dumb football decisions
Why is this even a question? You take the 3. Your D is playing lights out and it puts all the pressure on the playoff's greatest choke artist to sustain a drive. If you're lucky you get a pick 6 out of it. If not, they punt and you've got the GOAT and plenty of time to get a TD.
Most players on IR in the league and we were in the AFC Championship game. Cut BB some slack.
You have not made a single point that made any sense on this matter. Instead you made up a fairy tale that if we had kicked the FG the space time continuum changes and then our D no longer can stop them like what actually happened in the game we stopped them twice after? Your voodoo if we has kicked the FG all the sudden Manning is driving down the field just because we kicked the FG? Are you seriously making that as your point?Ok so you are essentially only a troll that just shouts around and can't logically explain their thoughts. Gotcha..
You're trying to use hindsight to fuel your argument which makes it irrelevant.why don't guys take a look at what ACTUALLY happened instead of making such a stupid argument.. The bigger issue is not kicking the FG on 4 and 6Completely disagree.. you have not been moving the ball well at all, you are deep in their territory and just need a single yard. I would agree that the actual playcall on 4th & 1 was stupid but the decision to go for it given the context was reasonable.
