It's easy, and only takes a few moments. The only problem with that is Miguel says he hasn't added in the earned incentives from last year which could knock it down to $15-$20M.Is it so hard to take a look at Miguel's page?

The Pats are around 20-23 million under the cap.
The only problem with that is Miguel says he hasn't added in the earned incentives from last year which could knock it down to $15-$20M.
" It has been reported that the following players have escalator clauses in their contracts which may increase their 2008 salary.
* Wilfork - as much as $4 million
* Watson - as much as $2.4 million
* Hobbs - maximum escalator amount unknown
* Kaczur - maximum escalator amount unknown
* Hochstein - as much as $800,000
* Green - maximum escalator amount unknown"

It is. Especially how big FA signings can be structured favorably for the first year or two. Still, with that drop and Moss undoubtedly going to take big money it's more than enough but not an overwhelming amount. And neither did the NFL.com report that he cites. So, until those escalators kick in, we won't know 100%. Even if it drops to 15 million, that is MORE than enough to get done what needs to get done.
He also says :True, but wasn't that was what the Eckel funny-money was about? Off-setting that? In which case it'd be accounted for. Maybe I never quite wrapped my head around that...
EDIT: I see Miguel has removed Eckel's hit...
He also says :
"My numbers do not include the effect of the LTBE/NTLBE calculation that occurs to help determine each team's adjusted cap number."
Based on that wording I am assuming our cap number will be higher (based on the Eckel maneuver) than he's listing now which would offset the previously mentioned incentives. I may be reading this wrong, however Eckel's number was officially a LTBE bonus so there's a good chance that will all even out.

If Moss takes 10 of the 15, we have 5 lift to fill needs at CB and IL, and i'm not so optimistic about that money being enough. Something else will give here.
Moss isn't going to take 10 out of the 15. Even if the Pats give him 15 million guaranteed, it won't take 10 million off this year's salary cap.
You can be as pessimistic as you want. But you are doing so from a position of ignorance.

Wow. A simple comment on a message board and a response of hostility? A little tense there dude?
*ROFLMAO* WOW. A simple comment on a message board and you become a psychiatrist wannabe?
There was no hostility in my post. I was just pointing out the ignorance of your position. Sorry if that sticks in your craw, but its the truth.
Looking at Miguel's page, is Harrison at any risk of being a cap casualty if they find any safeties that they like in free agency or the draft as he is in the last year of his contract, his signing bonus amortization is down to a single year, so it is a constant, and the cap savings would be 3 million. The only other two players with significant net cap savings space available would be Matt Light and Kevin Faulk, and the Pats will not cut either of them.
