Pace seems to only want to play in his "contract year". Pace is a one year wonder to me. Caveat emptor. Why not?

No thanks.
Pace seems to only want to play in his "contract year". Pace is a one year wonder to me. Caveat emptor. I would sign a player who either consistent throughout his rookie contract or steadily improving. Pace did nothing his first four years. Why not? I would love Calvin Pace.

I'd rather sign a player who knows the Patriots defensive system and is also an unrestricted free agent this year.I suppose, if you don't take into account the coaching change and the change of position. I think it's far more likely to be the cause of his uptick.

I have mixed feelings about this. My head tells me it's time to move on, my heart says otherwise (yes, I have one).

Tell that to Asante Samuel during the 2006 NFL Season.I suppose, if you don't take into account the coaching change and the change of position. I think it's far more likely to be the cause of his uptick. I doubt anyone gets THAT much better just because it's a contract year.

I doubt the Patriots have that much money under the salary cap to sign all these players:I'd rather sign them both, so Bruschi and Seau (if he returns) can be backups/role players.
2006 was Asante Samuel's contract year. Samuel was franchised this past season.Umm... perhaps if he were a UFA LAST offseason, maybe.

I doubt the Patriots have that much money under the salary cap to sign all these players:
Randy Moss
Jabar Gaffney
Kelley Washington
Tedy Bruschi
Junior Seau
Victor Hobson
Mike Wright (second round tender)
Eight 2008 NFL Draft Picks
and Calvin "one year wonder" Pace.
