Brian Waters' locker getting decorated

Still a worry in terms of depth. An injury or two and the line is looking like the weak link.

You could say that at any position across the entire roster, or any teams for that matter.

Brian Waters is a hall of famer. You know he'll come in and be probably our best lineman despite missing training camp. It's a courtesy BB extends to vets who earned that level of trust.

I'm curious how this arrangement flies with the rest of the players in the locker room. Perhaps there's a level of respect as well for the vets that no one has issue with it?

I wonder if on some level there could be some players that privately feel that they had to endure training camp, work hard to earn (or keep) their roster spot and might feel resentful that someone else can just step in as a starter a week before the season.

I'm sure anyone that gets cut today could really be peeved, but since they won't be around anyway it wouldn't matter.

Nick McDonald definitely makes this team if Waters doesn't show up. If so, I think Dennard is the last man cut.

There are a lot of good players below the line on Bedard's chart. I like the quality and depth of the Patriots this year.

Curran's tweet sounds cautiously optimistic :

Reading tea leaves, deliveries have been made to Brian Waters' locker. Nike gear hung with care. All they need is BW."

Is he saying his uniform is hung in his locker?

Heck yes! (In my Napoleon voice)

Is Santa Claus coming to town?

If Waters is back, and this seems to confirm it, I don't know how someone can't be content with our line. Other than Matt Light staying unretired, how could it possible be better? It's the same line as last year without Light, and we knew we were losing him.

On the other hand, we didn't realize how deep we'd be on the interior, and that's a plus. I'm comfortable playing Connolly, Thomas, Wendell, and McDonald on the interior.

Sure, tackle is a sore spot if anybody gets injured, but at least we can field two respectable tackles, which is two more than some teams.

You know when you think about it, Brian Waters return to the Pats is about the worst kept secret since Saturday Night Live declared Generalissimo Francisco Franco STILL dead. How many clues did we need to see.

1. The lack of additions to the interior line AFTER Gallery Retired

2. No comments from BB or Waters, when if retirement was truly a factor it would have been just too simple to just say it.

3. Ron Borges implied without facts that Money was a problem between Waters and the Pats, so we immediately knew that that wasn't an issue. ;)

My guess Waters will come off the suspended list after the first announcements for the PS's are made on Sunday. That way it will be more likely to get a guy they want on the PS to make it through waivers.

Volmer, Mankins, and Waters, all likely to be 100% by the end of the September. Stop the panic button boys, we are getting the band back together for one more tour.

Huzzah and Laud!

Just thinking out loud......If Waters arrives, what would the squeelers give for one of our guards.
With DeCastro out, their line is even more of a shambles:rocker:

Hopefully an NFL caliber WR :)

Do they have a spare RT by chance?

Can't wait for him to step out in our uniform again, guy is a beast.

I assume he gets a police escort from Logan a la Doug Mirabelli

I think we all knew that eventually he was going to show up. Nobody here really thinks that he needed to put the strain of a training camp on his body. Hopefully he is in good shape (for a lineman) and can play. Suddenly with Vollmer back the line looks fine. I would go Solder, Mankins, Connelly, Waters, Vollmer. The big question is does Koppen make the team? I honestly thought that Connelly played a better center than koppen ever day last year and frankly I was suprised to see Koppen in there for most of the pre-season.

Honestly, i held out no hope for waters and really thought he was going to retire. Great news if he is back.

He's back!

52 people on roster right? Room for one more...

Nice. Now we need good health from Vollmer and for Solder to "find himself" again, and the starting O-Line is set. If Cannon has to play RT at any point, the players may as well invest in a coffin for Brady.

I hear comments like this and just laugh because he showed that he could handle himself at RT last year when he played against Cameron Wake. Yes, he's could have had a better pre-season, but he progressed each day and each game.
