Re: Brady reported in an accident-Update: Shaken but now on way to Stadium

I as well..sometimes things are not about who throws a football real good and who doesnt.

No kidding. A newscaster just said something about fans fearing the
'worst case scenario, that Brady would miss SUnday's game."

Definitely NOT the worst-case scenario, for all involved.

Re: Brady reported in an accident-Update: Shaken but now on way to Stadium

I have a feeling texting while driving may have caused this accident.

Reports are that the Van ran a red light.

However, for the life of me I do not understand the texting while driving thing. Just 'effin call. Sooooo stupid.

Re: Brady reported in an accident

I just got to work and as I was walking up the stairs a co-worker caught me and said-- "Did you hear Brady is dead? Was in a car accident." Blasted Chargers fan.

I thought he was joking and then I came on here and saw posts about a car wreck and thought the worst-- am glad he's (apparently) okay. Might've been good if he'd decided to get looked at, though.

Ooohhhhh... I can think of one co-worker who deserves a good ol' beantown beat down after a comment like that.

I hope Tom is okay and there are no serious effects from the accident. He left because he felt "good enough" to leave and he didn't want to be late. Two months ago there were people on this board saying he had lost his edge. How's that for a GD edge?

...or there's a contract on Krafty's desk for $80M that needed to be signed by 9:00AM or else... just kidding.

If you've checked the Tweets on Google the past hour , you can see that the world doesn't gain anything from uninformed speculation over the internet.

There are professionals on the scene. Let's see what comes out from them, not from people speculating behind a keyboard. Car accidents are serious matters, physically, family-wise and career-wise.

yea, kind of like when people say "oh no, he is my fantasy football qb"

How about, Oh no..people's lives are at stake here and thats most important.

Amen to that.

Re: Brady reported in an accident

UI wonder if Brady will help the other driver monetarly or just be pissed at them. I would hope that he would help them out even if it was not his fault.

I also want to know who brought him into practice how great would it be if it was Kraft and they finished up the contract.

Why don't you go preach in the "Tom Brady has a new contract" threads.

Thanks for informing me the seriousness of car accidents. I always thought they were fun and games from the simple suggestion of my post that maybe texting was the cause of the accident.

Re: Brady reported in an accident-Update: Shaken but now on way to Stadium

Apparently the other driver has a leg injury. Hopefully it isn't anything serious, but it is good to hear leg rather than head.

True.

I hope Ron Borges's leg is okay.
although I still hate that scumbag!

Unfortunately these are proving to be one and the same in some cases today. People just need to filter and figure out who's credible. And wait for accurate info to come out; that's the cost of living in a hyper-/instant-media age.

Okay, serious question- What evidence do you have that shows texting was involved? If you don't have anything to base the claim on, it was pure unsubstantiated speculation.

People have been blowing through red lights well before cell phones existed. You know that, right?

Okay, seriously, it was just speculation. I didn't know people were going to get all offended.

Car accidents are no fun. I've been in two of them, luckily, no one got seriously injured. I didn't mean to offend people.

As far as texting is concerned:

Cell phone use and texting while driving causes 1.6 million automobile accidents every year, according to estimates by the National Safety Council. If those estimates are correct, it would mean 28 percent of all car crashes that occur on U.S. highways each year are the result of drivers texting or talking on their cell phones.

Cell Phone Use, Texting Cause 28% of All Auto Accidents, Group Says

It's a growing problem and I see drivers every single day doing it. It scares the crap out of me what some idiot might do to someone accidentally because they're playing with their phone.

Re: Brady reported in an accident-Update: Shaken but now on way to Stadium

At the risk of getting the thread back on track, the Pats are some basic info:

Patriots QB Tom Brady was in a car accident this morning. He was not hospitalized and is expected at Gillette Stadium today

Sure, Condon, because speculating on a football fan board about a football contract and a car crash where reportedly (by professionals) someone was extricated using the jaws of life are exactly the same thing. Thanks for the "perspective".

Unbelievable. Go ahead, speculate from miles away, behind your keyboard about the causes of a car accident that you have zero onsite info and very sketchy reports to go by.

Re: Brady reported in an accident-Update: Shaken but now on way to Stadium

Can you imagine being the person that gets into an accident with Tom Brady? I would want to kill myself.

Unless, of course,it was Tom's fault, and then we're talking PAY! DAY!

(Spoken like a true attorney~!)

Seriously, of course, I hope everyone is okay, but I am also not so much above saying, "[email protected] days before the home opener? Can we catch a break here?!?!?"

No matter what, if there was significant impact, he is at least going to be sore and achy. Hopefully, nothing worse than that.

"Jaws of Life" is never a term you want to hear around an accident.

"Pole Down" is not too good either!

Of course it's a serious problem. So is spousal abuse, drug abuse, etc.

Let the info stream flow from people on the scene with actual knowledge of the incident. Speculation from miles away behind a keyboard in a potentially life and death situation is a benefit to nobody. And I'm sorry, but it IS far different than speculating on a football contract.

....face palm.....

It's been explained several times in this thread.

Pretty sure Brady is an Audi Spokesperson. I beleive Audi US hq's are in New Jersey. I assume Brady gets a free car every year.
