BenJarvis Green-Ellis looks like the real deal

So you can't embrace him without saying BJGE is an elite player??

And your first sentence makes no sense whatsoever. Arian Foster was undrafted. Curtis Martin was a 3rd rounder. Terrelle Davis a 5th... the list goes on. They were all elite RB's at some point. BJGE is not that and doubt he ever will be. Am I saying he needs to be upgraded? Not at all, the team has more pressing needs at the time.

The 'I don't want a RB with a so called attitude' argument should have been put to rest the very first time we watched Dillon against the Colts first week of the '04 season. Check his performance that year to see what a more complete runner can do in this offense. Look we all love BJGE but there's homerism and then there's borderline insanity.
I'm a staunch Green-Ellis supporter. I have no issue with not recognizing him as an elite RB in the NFL. What I do recognize is that his performances, certainly in terms of scoring have been performed to an elite level since 2010 and he is an above average RB in the NFL.

For mine, elite is normally the top few in any category (3-5 max).

I'd say he's above average too because of the ball security (no jinxo) but there's a good number of backs I would take over him in this offense.

These are the only RB's I'd consider starting ahead of Green-Ellis, but wouldn't necessarily start them.

  • Frank Gore (injury prone)
  • Steven Jackson (injury prone)
  • Maurice Jones-Drew
  • Matt Forté
  • LeSean McCoy (although I'm not sure his particular technique would be as successful with the Patriots)
  • Darren McFadden
    [*]Adrian Peterson
    [*]Ray Rice
