The 101.8m for us is high compared to NYJetscap. They have us a tad under 95m once you add the dead money to salaries. I think some of Mayo's money went to this year. Of course, we don't know about the incentives earned. Anyone hear from Miguel recently? Haven't seen him post in a while.

Miguel hasn't updated his site since August. Hopefully, he is just busy.

Both sites have about the same cap number for the Jets and Dolphins, but differ with the Pats and Bills. I know the new cap rules allow any unspent cap money in a given year being pushed into the next year so maybe NYJets cap reflects that, but I don't know how since his list is itemized.

Either way, the Pats should have a decent amount of cap space and can free up bit more by cutting Ochocinco, Barrett, and possibly Wright (the guy should probably retire at this point). Also, they may let Light walk or extend him just so they can spread his cap money over two years. Unfortunately, Brian Waters is considering retirement, but the consolation prize is that he will save the Pats $2.2 million and hopefully Cannon can replace him.

    I'd like to keep these guys;

    Welker
    Law Firm
    Connolly
    Branch
    Love
    Slater
    M. Anderson

Just guessing but that could be around 20m. Throw in rookie salaries and we don't have much more. Wonder how much we carrier over like you mentioned. I really only want two fa's other than keeping our own. A wr and a free safety.

The Redskins cap baffles me. I never thought I'd see them in the bottom 3.

Does anyone recall the cap# for '13,'14'15. I seem to remember that the cap dramatically increases in the next couple years ....$160 mill?????

yeah, it pimps up big in 2014 or something like that, but the cap's always on the rise.

there will be all kinds of crazy big fa signings, and the guys under contract will be holding out to redo deals that top the other guy, etc.
    business as usual.

Can't recall something that isn't known. The cap is expected to be fairly flat for the next two years (may be small increases to $123-126+) but then rise dramatically once the new TV deals kick in. Last time the jump was in the teens the first year and upper single digits thereafter. So maybe $140M by 2014 and $155M-ish by 2016. Thing is contracts will rise in anticipation across the board so it's not like a windfall at least past the first year.

We're in really good shape comparatively speaking. Finished the season in the top two in standings and bottom third in cap committment with just one big ticket FA signing or franchise tag and some manageable veteran resignings to complete before FA opens and the draft class eats up it's 5% or so. They won't go nuts, but they can make some noise if the right players are available. $20M or so in cap room to play with and they can always do some restructures and extensions to create additional space. And there will be some cap saving cuts...

Should be funny watching the Steelers try to sign restricted free agent Mike Wallace this off season. BTW it will only take a "1" 1st rounder to steal him away and a very good offer from another team. Probably a handful of teams with salary cap room to get it done.

The Steelers are not royally screwed. Although I don't subscribe to the Michael Felger "Cap is crap" philosophy, I do believe that the worst teams can do these days is go into cap heck instead of cap hell. The Steelers will have to make some cuts, but not like they would have had to do ten years ago where they would have to cut some pretty good players to get under the cap. They will have to cut some older veterans this time around.

I heard this years cap was appx. 127 million, so if true the pats are WAY under and could do some real FA shopping this year.
