Patriots | Close to signing Moss to long-term deal?
Sun, 2 Mar 2008 17:21:28 -0800

Albert Breer, of the Dallas Morning News, reports the New England Patriots and unrestricted free-agent WR Randy Moss are close on a multi-year deal to keep him with the Patriots. If the two are able to come to terms, Moss would remain with the team without visiting any other teams.

Well, at least Schefter and Breer would be two reliable sources... a cause for optimism.

Re: Pats sign Moss - 5 yr, 52 mil. (25 guaranteed)

Can NO ONE EVER be HAPPY on this board????? Jesus god...now we have to go after these people for the voracity of their reports?

Well, we may have a huge appetite for Patriot news in any way, shape or form we can get it, but I think you (and the rest of us) are much more concerned about the veracity of the reportage in question....;)

Not to nitpick, mind you....:D

Re: Pats sign Moss - 5 yr, 52 mil. (25 guaranteed)

Good news if true. And I certainly trust Breer.

First, there is plenty of hysteria on this message board already.

Second, this thread should be deleted immediately.

Third, the Eagles troll should be banned for life.

Only true Patriots fans are allowed to desecrate the PatsFans message board.

You're wrong. When someone claims to have heard something on WEEI, but didn't actually hear it, that person is being disingenuous. Yes, I have a problem with that. If you don't, that's a you problem.

If he'd done it on purpose, I'd have a problem. He didn't.

But whatever. If you like having wadded panties, I guess nothing I can say will stop you. Enjoy the evening. The Simpsons are on--and it's pretty funny so far.

I just reported the thread in hopes a mod is on duty who can either edit the title or lock this sucker all together. I does little use to say it, since too many folks post in threads without reading through them but...

THIS IS NOTHING BUT A RUMOR FROM A POST ON KFFL. THERE IS NO DEAL.
WEEI IS BROADCASTING THE CELTICS GAME AND DID NOT REPORT ANYTHING.

Where did I claim that I heard anything on WEEI?

Good lord, could you be any more sanctimonious?

I'm sorry, you're right, I was deliberately trying to mislead people. It wasn't that I was trying to create a thread quickly. Next time I'll be sure to qualify it more as not to offend your delicate sensibilities.

You claimed in your original post that "Pats sign Moss per WEEI". Yet you never heard it and did not refer to your information source. The fact you can't see that you did something wrong is sad.

Go F yourself with a crow bar. And take an upper for your ethics, message board or otherwise.

And he apologized for it but you still made snide comments for nothing.

Unless you prematurely ejaculated when you saw the thread title or something and need new underwear, THEN I'm with you Jack that @$$hole

I will be pissed if this is not true. If so......this is...Mossome!!!!

Re: Rumor Pats sign Moss - 5 yr, 52 mil. (25 guaranteed)

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Patriots are close to re-signing free agent Randy Moss.
Schefter says the Patriots have a "standing multi-year offer to make Moss one of the highest paid receivers in the NFL." Moss is perhaps realizing the market for him isn't as strong as believed, although we wouldn't count out another team like the Rams, Redskins, or Eagles making a last minute run at him.

As the other poster noted, I was making this thread quickly and it was completely unintentional. If I had taken more time, which in retrospect I should have, I would've added a "via KFFL" or something similar.

The fact that you get this bent out of shape over something so trivial is what's sad here. These types of threads pop up ALL the time, so it's hardly like you haven't had the misfortune of experiencing this before. You can ascribe sinister motives if you want; luckily it appears most of your fellow posters aren't so cynical.

Wow, did someone piss in your Cheerios this morning, or what? I always thought you to be one of the more level-headed posters here, but I guess PMS can cause even the most rational to act out of sorts.

igglesnut as to why he posted...

http://www.kffl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225507&page=2

Someone posted the numbers on the Eagles message board.

Combined with the fact that Schefter had just legit reported a deal was very close and I just assumed that the person wasn't BSing.

I shouldn't have assumed. They said WEEI had reported it but at that time WEEI was showing a Celtics game.

It's false people.
