Would Bill Belichick voluntarily resign?

There is no way he will be forced to resign. The NFL makes SO much money off the patriots, and who had the highest rated nfl games this season? Yep that would be the Pats again. If anything, there may be truth to the phrase that no publicity is bad publicity when it generates interest. Sucks for us pats fans cuz we see the hypocrisy, but as much as other teams would like us to fall we are the #1 draw in the NFL. I don't buy that the NFL will destruct their top commodity when they make so much money from it...

The Pats will still have Brady, and even more people will tune it to see us either get killed, or to see if we can survive without BB. We would still be a top draw, just not for good reasons for the Pats fans.

The league is made up of 32 owners and Kraft himself said 31 of them hate us because we are winning. If we are not doing so, then one of them will get to take the spot. Yeah, I can really see them all wanting to preserve the Pats at the top and screw themselves out of all that glory, fame and money. Looks like the Giants ownership didn't have to think twice about it.

Why the **** would Kraft force BB out? First off, he signed him to an extension AFTER spygate came out. Second of all, the Pats have the highest TV ratings of any team in the league. Third of all, the Pats just set a ton of regular season records this year. Fourthly, do you have any idea how much Kraft hated Parcells and Carroll? He knows how blessed he is to have Belichick, on a coaching and organizational level (he works with his personnel guys, rather than against them. Seems intuitive, but it doesnt work that way with a lot of teams, where the coach's primary objective is not to get fired). And lastly, and probably most importantly, is that Kraft knows that, if he forced Belichick out, his fanbase would evaporate overnight. I have no problem saying that, if they were to part in this way, and I had to put my loyalty with Belichick or the Pats organization, I would choose Belichick. He put us on the NFL map, and I feel pretty damn grateful for it. If he gets pushed out the door, I (and many, many other fans) are going with him.

Seen those ticket price increases ? Think the parking rates won't go up just as high ? Yeah, the Pats really care about their fan base, and really worry about them walking. How many years do you have to wait for season tickets ?

They had fans when they sucked, and they will still have fans when they suck again. Hell, we are all still here and it has been 3 years with BB and Brady and we have been living off the fumes of 'wait until next year'.

They don't care now because they're going to sell out all of their games, regardless. Have you seen the waiting list on season tickets lately? If enough fans left to have a serious impact on merchandise sales and ratings, however, then you can bet that they would take notice.

Also, remember that Kraft is a diehard fan in his ownright. Before he owned the Pats, he was a season-ticket holder. He went through the ****ty years as a fan, and he understands what Belichick has done for New England.

I'll gladly accept BB's resignation if he doesn't lead Patriots to a SB in 08. A ring and a perfect season are due. Forget about all spygate BS.

I'm not talking about us maintaining our success, clearly thats not the case. It's obvious no other team wants us to do well, but I'm talking about how much of this hate is directed towards BB. In the eyes of the haters, he is the villain. They hate our team, not bc our players always say the right things or are humble in the media, they hate our team bc BB has been portrayed as some sort of evil. I do understand a lot of the hate comes from the jealousy and success of our franchise, but the outlet is BB. No other person in the NFL garners so much emotion on a NATIONAL level, than BB. And even if fans would be tuning in to watch the Pats play without him, to see whether they win/lose there would not be continued interest bc either way their outlet is gone. The average joe across the nation would not have a reason to watch. America loves drama, and that is what you have with BB being the main character. Now if we continued to be successful I think ppl would still be envious of this team but much less interest would be garnered, especially nationally. And I can't ever remember the Patriots in their franchise history exciting so much emotion, good or bad, and that is linked to BB. Without him, the main character is gone...

No pressure or anything.

Wow. Well we've all been disappointed in the last three years but you can do a heck of a lot worse than a divisional round loss, AFCCG loss and SB loss.

I'm really starting to hate some of these so called "best fans on earth."

if you consider what patriots did in 07 and we didn't win SB, it's disappointing. It is time for no excuse. With all spent money on talented players, i expect this team to deliver the good in 08.

#1 ranked O team in NFL only SCORED 2 TDs in SB.? It was simply BS. We scored more points than that when we faced Dolphins in 07 season.

Thank you, God of Everything, Good to know BB answers to you. You think HE is happy with this?

STFU. Honestly.

When you can name the coach that's got a better chance to win the SB in 2009 than Belichick I'd love to hear the name. Belichick isn't a lock - no-one can be - but he's clearly the best bet.

Firstly, i would like to replace Patriots fans like you because your support for the team is always there whether the team looses or not.

Perhaps, your level of expectation is NOT as high as i am. If you don't expect your team to deliver the good even though it is a talented team, do you expect to see a moron like you.?

why the hell did Patriots loose SB with 2 TDs.? If it is how you define your greatness, you are simply full of S.

I don't think anyone is as high as you are....

And yet after all your bluster and meaningless banter, you can't name the coach you'd have replace coach Belichick.

And for my level of expectation, its called maturity. THere are people out there that realize that winning a Super Bowl is hard work, and takes a lot of effort, skill, and yes, even luck.

And then there are those who don't and go into the corner and cry away about how their team "sucks" at every turn.

These are the people that I wonder how they deal with real life. If you get stopped at a red light, do you pout about it? If you don't get that big promotion, do you quit the company? If it rains on the day of the big party you've planned, do you spend the day yelling at all your friends telling them that your expectations were just too high and that the day didn't meet them.

There is nothing wrong with having high expectations. However, you need to overlay...REAL LIFE.

Grow up. Things aren't always going to go your way.
