So, I went xmas shopping yesterday at the Holyoke mall (Western MA). I went into the (i forget the name.. who can be bothered with the mall anyways) sports store there. Here is a list of things I saw

1. NOT A SINGLE "SB CHAMP" ITEM FOR SALE (The patriots have won 3 super bowl items. Does it occur to the idiots running the store that super bowl items MIGHT sell?!?!)
2. Multiple "AFC Champ Patriots" items. What is this, 1997?
3. No Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, or KG jerseys on display.
4. An Antione Walker jersey on display (I stood staring at it for a good 15 seconds in disbelief before my girlfriend goes "Man, that's old")
5. A "Red Sox Suck" pencil.
6. Coffee Mugs for about 31 NFL Teams (Jaguars, Colts, Chargers, Steelers, Niners, etc)
7. No Patriot Coffee mugs.
8. Derek Jeter cardboard cutout in the doorway/entrance

Suffice to say; I am disgusted.

If it was a chain store (ie, Olympia, Sports Authority, ****s) then I wouldn't be surprised. These stores are usually assigned merchandise from some suit in Florida or CA. If it was just a local place then shame on them and I'm surprised they are still in business.

I checked the floor plan, and it might have been sports authority, although I am not 100% sure.

Don't forget it's borderline Yankee country out here.

Ever think that everything was sold out. It is around christmas, lol.

If Springsfield is a arse hole of Central MA, then Holyoke is the taint.

Can't we stop all this bashing of the Holyoke Mall?!?!?!?!?!

I can't stand to see one more Holyoke Mall post!

Mods, please merge all these Holyoke Mall threads!

LOL.

I don't think we given the Holyoke Mall nearly enough time to call it a bust yet... It has so much potential.

Holyoke Mall is made of glass!!!!!1!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!

Just think, they could have had the Burlington Mall!!!

Okay, so I come here for 2 reasons

1) to learn, which I do
2) to get a giggle because I enjoy the smack talk and there are some funny people on this board.

Earlier today I posted in one of the gazillion Maroney should die threads how sad it was how negative everyone is.

But between this thread, the Peyton forhead thread and the SumTingWong thread--I truly can't stop giggling. Thanks for taking away the sour mood and making it better.

I stopped by that store in the Holyoke Mall mid November and there was squat merchandise for the Patriots and Red Sox at that time as well. Plenty of other teams stuff though.

That store is fairly good size and loaded with stuff so I was suprised they didn't have a good assortment of Pats and Red Sox things.

OFF TOPIC. Tommysgirl, God this is the Christmas season and we are talking about MALLS on this thread NOT Maroney. how dare you open the door.

Burlington Mall? Overrated, Go to the Wrentham Outlets for real value. Tremendous upside potential.

And for those on the South Shore, don't forget Braintree Plaza. A well-stocked collection of stores and merchandise that had a great combine and often gets overlooked by the true talent evaluators.

LOL, somehow it would have gone there anyway. You're right about Wrentham but not at Xmas time. The backup alone on 495 drives me nuts. My best friend, the Coach outlet, can wait for me until January.

The only reason we haven't seen more of the Holyoke Mall is because the Holyoke Mall just doesn't have the talent to play in this region!

I say we wait until next year and trade the Holyoke Mall, plus Fanueil Hall to Minnesota for the Mall of the Americas!

Now THAT'S a mall that would fit in this system!

I take exception to this! We are not CT.

No need to take exception. I'm in Berkshire County and anyone who knows this area will tell you it's about a 50/50 Red Sox/Yankee split.
