For the first time in about fifteen years, I didn't watch a moment of the NFL opener. I mean, this isn't typically a game (if the Pats aren't playing) where I'd make sure to schedule around, but I'm talking about sitting in bed talking to the wife and reading while it was on.

It was a little difficult, but I feel more empowered having done so. Moreso, after the game was over and I read very briefly about it, I realized that not watching NFL games is just going to take time to get used to, after being on NFL alert for so long. In the end, I just would have felt crappy if I'd given in, and that would not be enjoyable at all.

I actually came home from work, got really drunk (had a bad day), and passed out. I didn't even have a chance to feel any temptation to watch, because it was 4am when I woke up. So... mission accomplished.

But I hate Broncos, so missing their games is like missing an evil boss's funeral. You don't give a ****. The real challenge is Sunday. Let's get it. #****YouGoodell
