I agree witb Lazar that our defense has struggled at times against relatively mediocre offenses. But overall, I think our defense is moving in a better direction.
Direction is all that counts. They've survived a major upheaval with Collins, then Sheard. By all accounts, Van Noy is outperforming expectations, pleasing the coaches and he's got high pick talent. Sheard seems to have taken his medicine and learned from it [hopefully]. Rowe has settled down and he's a high pick talent with size. Branch can continue his outstanding play.
I think they can come together and be better than the sum of parts. doesn't matter if they aren't astounding, they seem to have enough pass rush if they can play as a team IMO. 2 vets, 2 you pass rushers. It's all about gelling at the right time.
Don't see a downside since Collins left. CBs look pretty good IMO, with Ryan playing better.
