All of our wildest dreams come true: Denver has traded for Mark Sanchez

Sounds like they decided they didn't even have a plausible backup. I still think they want Fitz or Kaepernick. Who knows, Peyton might "come out of retirement," as was suggested in a couple of places today.

People joke about this but even Mark Sanchez at this point is an upgrade over the corpse of Peyton Manning last season...it's an upgrade for them!

Nah. Peyton was awful last season, but his mind is far superior to that of Sanchez, and that alone makes him a better QB.

I don't care how good their defense is they are screwed lol.

From the Broncos forum...this is how they are taking it:

"Great Move by the Boss, it is a pleasure to watch Elway work"

"I'm sold on this pick-up. We didn't spend much at all......leaving some dry powder for any quality leftover F/A's"

"I see this being similar to the Jake Plummer situation. Kubiak molded Jake into the system, same here, then we'll draft a stud QB, let him sit a couple of years."

And I laughed a lot at this one:

"Whether or not it solves on field problems isn't really the question. This takes the media pressure away, every NFL headline was talking about Denver having just 1 QB. This will loosen the strangle alot of other QBs had on us and we can start looking around the market again now and fill these vacancies."

I'm almost as happy as I was the day the Jets gave Sanchez that big extension. Match made in heaven, **** em both.

Even sanchez can't be worse than the 2015 version of peyton manning.
This afternoon i heard the guys on NFL radio say that B Oswiler didn't really want to return to denver because he'd have to fill payaton mannings shoes. The implication was he was afraid he could never meet such lofty expectations.i was . the way manning played he was a size 3. it woulnd't take much to be better than manning in 015. But i'm sure Lil'Markey will fck it up.

What a time if your a Broncos fan, you go from winning a Super Bowl then see most of your talent leave and at the moment, Sanchez is your opening night starter. I'd love to read any Broncos fan attempt to put a kool-aid drinking spin on this. And "we just won a Super Bowl" doesn't count.

This is just the greatest thing. I can't believe this really happened. In Elway We Trust.

From the PFT comments, this made me laugh from a Broncos fan: "Please tell me that it was Steve Harvey who announced this."

Actually, it's a three-way trade. The Patriots volunteered to throw in their 6th round pick as well, just to make sure Elway wouldn't change his mind.

There is no way that Denver is counting on him being their starter. Probably competition for the backup.
