Breer: Brady has a high ankle sprain

HAS have varying degrees of severity.

The fact that he stayed in the game tells me its a low grade one.

Mike Flynn was on this morning, and said in his experience, high ankle sprains are usually bad enough to keep someone out of a game when they suffer them. So the fact that Brady went right back in leads me to believe (or hope) that it's a minor one.

Well it just puts more pressure on this pathetic OL. OL and wr in terms of offseason moves.

Depends how bad it is, just 3 weeks ago McCourty had a High Ankle Sprain, was at practice a week later and played yesterday at a position far more needs of mobility.
True, and the reply looked pretty gruesome, so what now?

I'd put a positive spin on this but after yesterday I don't want to be labeled a homer :D

Deangelo williams suffered a high ankle sprain and he was carted off the field yesterday

If you see Brady in a walking boot in his next presser then start to worry. Otherwise, please with the drama. Don't think he would have even been able to stand on a severe- moderate high ankle sprain never mind playing in the the second half.

I'd be surprised if he isn't in a walking boot, mostly for protection and also Bill will love to play this up ahead of the first playoff game.

Oh FFS we won't be seeing Tom in a boot unless the paparazzi gets lucky like in 2007. Remember after Gronk got a severe ankle sprain he wasn't in a boot for the entire pre-Super Bowl week? Every practice and media appearance? Turned out the team was just hiding it, he was seriously hurt.

If Brady has a high ankle sprain then he's going to be significantly hampered. Period. I don't care how much the team downplays the injury or how coy he acts about it. You just need to look at how Brady was clearly hampered in the unspeakable game when he played with a high ankle sprain. Paired with the o-line collectively deciding not to block for s.hit that day it was a deadly combination.

And our o-line isn't doing any better today.

In all honesty I know Breer is with the NFLN but I'm not 100% confident in his reporting like I am with Schefter.

How bad could it have possibly been if Brady didn't miss a single play?! Seriously, I know our coaches generally let players play through injuries if the player is willing, but there really could not have been much damage since Brady went right back in. Even if Brady was playing on pure adrenaline, it would have worn off during halftime. He never went to the locker room, got no treatment outside of extra tape...this really cannot be an injury with much impact.

I think this board has collectively pulled a high ankle sprain - from a mild one to a severe one.

I've played games on sprained ankles that required crutches the next day.
