Here is an off-the-wall thought on Luck. Next year is the final year of his contract. Suppose he doesn't come to terms with Indy and they franchise him. After that, for the 2018 season they would probably not franchise him again. Do you think the Pats would be interested in going after him assuming Brady decides to hang them up? How likely do you think it would happen given that scenario?

Head to church and consult your priest on what you should do to atone for putting your sins into words :p

I'm just not willing to consider that scenario until I see some type of decline in TFB.

Wrong religion. :)

I think Brady will go another four years. However......
As I said, "Given that scenario....." where Brady has decided to hang up his spikes.

Much as we hate to think of it, this great run will eventually come to an end and we can have a Young after Montana type succession after Brady is done.

I have been a Pats fan since I moved to Massachusetts in '67 and have been with them all through the Patsies years. These last 15 years have been my reward for being such a loyal fan. At 74, I would like it to continue that way for the rest of my life.

Luck comes with an automatic high price tag which I don't think the Patriots would be willing to consider. I believe Garoppolo will be the go-to guy when Brady retires.

Regarding whether Luck signs a new contract with Indy or not is what interests me and will be fun to follow during the next year. The Colts have a lot of work to do in order to sign him, maintain a decent team and stay under the cap. OTOH, even if they were able to offer him a competitive contract does he want to stay there? It would be his only chance to get out of town while still in his prime.

Realistically coming to the Pats would mean sitting behind Brady for a couple of years on a back-up contract. (I know you asked in a theoretical sense)

the troops failed general luck! they put a decent fight though...

But that means only two more years of Brady, yeah, which doesn't sound right....

Please god, no.

Luck is hugely overrated.

Favre Mk II, open receivers for a 5 yard gain. No thanks, sling it 40 yards to the dude in triple coverage, that's what heroes do.

If Luck leaves in FA, he'll end up in LA

He spent his college days on the west coast and the NFL needs to sell LA.

TFB is going to play for another 10 years, your plan is way ahead of schedule.

He's been terribly coached ever since making it to the NFL, as seen by his constant impulse to throw deep into triple coverage. BB would never stand for that, and we'd have to spend a couple of seasons training it out of him.

I'll stick with Jimmy G thanks.

Luck is going to get a record setting deal where ever he plays. I don't think he will be worth his contract. He is a very good QB, but I don't know if he is elite.

No way Indy lets him go, no matter what price he commands. Not happening ever.

Tom Brady is immortal!!.... for now.

When Brady quits Luck will have only 5-7 years left, imo.

Concussion juice is real yo.

If brady retires sure but he wont and the colts wont let luck go.
