With Williams being cut they do have an open slot I think?Thornton may be back again on the practice squad. He was being paid more than the normal
practice squad player.
Hicks was about to breakout after the 2013 season, he was a rising interior DL. Then they let him balloon up in weight and he regressed badly in 2014. Entering the NFL scouts had him as the next Ngata, and he definitely flashes that potential during his career.Thornton seems to have potential, with question marks. Hicks seems to be a gift. He's been a starter almost every game the last three years and seems to be a victim of a scheme change as much as anything. Could be this years Ayers, or more, given the position. A top notch DT for what they paid would be robbery.
Looking at his weird college history, he may have been underdrafted in the third round.
Lions.any news on khyri thornton?
And, of course, this is true for any player on the Practice Squad. It was extremely risky to have Fleming on the Practice Squad, rather than the 53 man squad. I understand that keeping Fleming might have meant going below seven safeties, which we didn't need to do once Solder was put on IR.Ugh makes me mad i would of tried to hold on to him if he emerges It will stink.
But as BB says if you subject a player to waivers with the idea of bringing him back you need to know that he can be picked up by any team and accept that risk.

I thought they asked him to bulk up, for a better positional fit with their new plans for him. But it didn't work for himThey let him balloon up in weight?

...and VW was 6-2. Hicks is 6-5It's pretty amazing to have a guy who slims down by twenty pounds to end up at 325.
If he bulks back up to his previously normal playing weight he'd be about where Big Vince was said to be.
I noticed him showing up on one pretty impressive run stuff already, if he starts making a habit of that he might resemble Wilfork in other ways.
Now I want to see what he can do with an INT...
Branch is 6-6...and VW was 6-2. Hicks is 6-5
Alan Branch is 6-5 and around 350.
That is a lot of beef.
6-6 is with platform shoesBranch is 6-6
with that extra height they should both get more INTs than Wilfork. Let's hope so anyway!...and VW was 6-2. Hicks is 6-5
