Week 2 post-game thread - Patriots 40, Bills 32

The game was a mess/bizarre, but key takeaways:

That was the best defense on our schedule that Brady/co. just burnt to a crisp. The kids (so far) are great pass blockers. Could be our best passing offense since 07/11.

Lewis is an upgrade over Vereen.

Butler gave up 0 yards if I recall. I think he was in zone underneath and the TD was McCourty's responsibility.

Short: Best offense in the NFL, and a solid defense if we can find a third CB that isn't garbage.

Garbage time happened, folks.

Game was never really in doubt.

A good review would be to go back to the 2011 game and post game threads and see what happened when we were up big and garbage time came a callin'.

Anybody remember Miami opening night and the home game against Indy?

However, this does seem to be a situation where we will get bit at some point.

The O-Line is stellar. Nice to see Dobson playing well. Mason as FB play should be thrown out.

LOL, classic Patriots. More stressful when they're up by 20 than down by 20. The Pats looked damn tired on D. Slow in pursuit, lazy arm tackling. It was just bad football down the stretch, but a road win against a good divisional opponent is gold.

The defense played horrible on the first drive and then in the 4th quarter there were too many mistakes and mental errors. Against a better team that could come back to haunt us!!

Fletcher sucks. Other than that, this defense is good enough. Not anywhere near elite, but definitely good enough.

Create a new position called Guy in Charge Of Stopping Josh McDaniels From Calling A Deep Route When You're Up 18 Late And Only Need A Foot To Essentially Clinch It.
That's Belichick's job. He deserves as much blame as McDaniels.

I think the defense started to snooze up by twenty four points. they became complacent. This applies to BB and JMCD too.

The dude is not an NFL corner. He is a disaster waiting to happen.

Seemed like they wanted to run it up after all the talk this week and it almost bit them. Hopefully we don't see that again.

Divisional game and on the road we won what more do you want? Other teams players and coaches get paid too tough to win. I understand the concern, but when you just beat a AFC contender in Week 1 and a tough divisional opponent in week 2, there's much to like.

Was that the same game where it was a one-score game with over a minute to go and the opposition had the ball?

Not to mention the momentum was on their side, with their offense firing on all cylinders in the 4th quarter.

Maybe Steelers arnt so bad. Again while the game was undecided the Pats took control of the game, and basically put it out of reach. Sept. only , as season progresses they will start playing 60 min game.
