I doubt Giselle has spent a nickle on clothing or accessories for well over a decade. In fact, she probably gets paid to wear anything you see her in out in public.
I agree. Was just joshing...

Goodell was asked if he grew up a Jets’ fan living in Bronxville, N.Y.
“I wasn’t,” Goodell said. “I was originally a Colts fan, then became a Redskins fan for a little bit, and then had the good fortunate of working for the Jets, so I was a Jets fan in 1983.”

Yes, that would have been the Baltimore Colts.

So, this seeming adult, given tremendous power happens to favor three of his favorite temas/cities?

Yup, he thought he had influence because he saved the aholes bacon in the nflpa negotiations. He made a fool of himself.

Politicians are notoriously ungrateful. Goodell is a senator's son.

A few things...

First of all I love the AEI report but I don't understand, if Brady had any involvement with it, it would help to leak it before his appeal. Why warn Goodell of things to come? Wouldn't that just give Goodell more time to poke holes in the report whether they are factual or not or time to build a defense against it?

I think it was calculated when Goodell mentioned he is not married to the Well's report and welcomes more information to get things right (paraphrasing). I think this leaves the door open for Goodell to view the info Brady's team presents and be able to point to the Well's report as, indeed, being inconclusive and totally vacating any punishment for Brady.

I'm not saying this because I have rose-colored glasses on. I'm saying this because it seems this is the only way for Goodell and the NFL to save face and to prevent potentially scandalous details of the botched sting to come to light. To blame Wells and his report for misleading the NFL or simply for doing a poor job. To make Wells the fall guy.

If this is exactly what it seems to all of us here, a sting where the Brady and the ball boys did absolutely nothing wrong and there is proof of nefarious underlying actions by the NFL, how else could Goodell prevent this from becoming public knowledge if taken to court? One answer-blame Wells and vindicate Brady.

I do not think Goodell is an blubbering idiot. While I do think he is bad at his job, I do think he has the brain capacity, or people around him, who know the potential ramifications of this going to court.

As far as the fine against the Pats and the draft picks? I don't know. I've read people here saying no matter what the fine sticks and the draft picks are gone while others still hold hope of getting them back. If the matter plays out similarly to what I stated above, how can those penalties stay in tact?

I hope it plays out like I think it will but hell, I'm not Matlock, I just look like a young Paul Newman dressed as Matlock.

It depends. Smart politicians wouldn't turn someone like Kraft from a friend to an enemy. Of course, no one has ever accused Goodell of being smart.

Actually, he screwed the Redskins by penalizing them for taking the cap rules literally in an uncapped year.

Well, they have an idiot owner, but the fact is, his childhood team was the Colts, now in Indy, formerly in Baltimore.

He hasn't gone "all the way" and I still believe he won't. A report from Sal Pal is worthless.

Agree that report may be worthless.

If by "all the way you mean defamation suit" it's difficult to disagree. Could happen, probably not.
But if not going "all the way" means NOT going to court after losing an appeal to get to ZERO games, I disagree vehemently.

I am not a lawyer but understand it to be part of the process for both sides to disclose evidence. While this hearing is not a courtroom, nor is it a legal procedure it is the foundation for a potential litigation. Your point is valid, however I think with the AEI report helping Bountygate get tossed out, they may view the report as an accelerant to helping Goody make a decision right then and there in the hearing. I hope.:)

I hope you are right. Always good to keep your options open but Goody has shown no evidence of being flexible and compromising on this issue.

Yep- exposing Kensil and the Colts would be the easiest trap door. However I doubt that will happen.

Yep. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Yup, and now the NFL is Saturday morning cartoon time...........the owners are Hanna-Barbera with Tom (Goodell) chasing a whole host of Jerry (Players) mice around like the AssCat he is because Jerry made him look bad or got too big a piece of cheese. Or Goodell is Elmer Fudd and.....and you get where I'm headed.

Pats are Superfriends

NFL Exec Office is Legion of Morons and Hacks.

Please tell me that you two have small children.

“I wasn’t,” Goodell said. “I was originally a Colts fan, then became a Redskins fan for a little bit, and then had the good fortunate of working for the Jets, so I was a Jets fan in 1983.”

That, Kensil's Jets heritage and similarly that of others in the league front office is why it's now the

NYFL

to me.

LOL.

Superfriends, Tom & Jerry, Hannah-Barbera, and Bugs Bunny are timeless cartoons.

My children are pre-teens and watch that mindless crap on the Disney Channel. Jessie, Dog w/ a Blog...ugh.

The science in Wells report concurs with AEI. Which if Goodell tries to poke holes in that, he will be poking holes in Exponent which is poking holes in the Wells report. Because Brady's lawyers are going to attack the NFL with Walt Anderson's recollection. How he said he measured with the gauge that science agrees with yet somehow Wells decided Anderson used the gauge that didn't lineup with science.

Wells literally spends time pumping up Anderson of how great and thorough he is, yet the one thing that would severely hurt his conclusion, he disregards.

Any true fan of a team, is only a fan of one team.

I think it also depends on how much of a "real" fan you were in the first place.

I can certainly understand if you were born here and relocated to say, San Diego and started following the Chargers. When push comes the shove, your heart is pulling for the Pats.

With the access to football coverage on TV and if you listen to it, sports radio if a person were a Pats fan that moved to SD and started following the Chargers then screw them.

DirecTV solves the non-national games issue. Then you can download one of the many radio apps or just go to their site to listen to 98.5 or WEEI if you listen to them. Also last I knew you could access PatsFans.com from anywhere in the United States (unless of course your work has it blocked).

I agree 100%.

My thought was more specifically around the emotional/social aspect of it. If you grew up in the area and followed the team as a child, you are likely to have an emotional pull towards that team as an adult.

From a social standpoint, if you start hanging around with local fans there is a tendency to try and be part of the culture and discussion, thus get naturally caught up in it.

Not trying to defend Goody but I understand where he is coming from. As a child, he was down in DC a lot b/c of his dad's work thus it was natural to follow the BAL Colts and George Allen's 'Skins.

If those goes to a "real court of law," Brady will have anticipated this and will have only allowed it to get that far if he is prepared to comply, so he won't have any alternative but to "allow his phone to be examined" because the alternative is being held in contempt of court.
Since he did nothing, he will have no problem turning over his phone if it is asked for.
It is also extremely debatable whether there is cause to ask for his phone in a civil trial.
