It is. A few non Pats fans see it that way. The majority don't. They believe what they see on NFLN and ESPN. I've been at it all day. The tides will not change. 4 Super Bowls due to cheating. That's the legacy like it or not which I hate because it's not true. Never seen anything like it.

What you are missing is that this will be put forth as an integrity of the game. Rice was personal. This is about "integrity". That's the catchall. How can the NFLPA defend that? So they are supporting cheating? See where I'm going with this?

No I don't. Because the NFLPA doesn't give a flying **** what the suspension is about. The NFLPA argues on behalf of players based on the strength of the case.

What is so hard about this? Why do you think that the NFLPA is going to change everything it's done for it's entire history just for this one case that involved Tom Brady? It's really is mind boggling.

Of course they do! They don't live in a vacuum. Yes they will put up a defense. I'm not saying they won't. They just will not be able to do much of they wanted. The public wants blood. Other teams want blood too. What's more important from an outside view, that they helped a cheater (from a vilified team) get a lighter sentence. Or that they stood for integrity and the other players in their union?

It's pretty ridiculous. It doesn't really matter that 3 of those were won before the 2006 rule change, or that nobody is measuring Manning's balls who helped change the rule. Now it's Brady's rule...

I wish Kraft would come out and accuse the Colts of deflating balls since some of theirs were also under regulation. He should come out forcefully and use the same terminology more probable than not. He should also point out that Brady played BETTER after they reinflated the balls, and if there was an advantage to the lower PSI balls, it certainly wasn't for us in the first half.

But it won't matter. ESPN and the rest of the ****ty sports media is going to feast on this without anyone there actually reading the entire report, just finding bits and snippets for maximum ratings.

You don't deserve blood just because some lawyer offers an opinion that there's a 50.1% chance that somebody did something wrong and a 49.9% chance that somebody did not.

Y'know......as stupid as this sounds, part of me wants Bob to step down. He doesn't want to fight this war. I believe its a war worth fighting.

I was ok with his statement right up until the last paragraph. It made everything before that diluted in its tone and message. He totally wimped out.

Jonathan would fight. I am convinced of this.

I don't understand the last paragraph either. I mean, f it. What happens if they say no, we don;t accept this report or your punishment. What would happen, really? Why not fight and find out?

Isn't that enough especially in our perception is reality world? Mind you, I don't agree with what I'm saying. It's just how they will react. I could actually see a year. Truly. That's how ridiculous this who,e situation is.

Absolutely agree. If the Pats don't fight now there will be nothing left to fight for in the future.

The NFL has declared war on the Pats, and I don't feel confident that Bob Kraft is the general our army needs leading them in this battle.

Step aside Bob, it was coming sooner rather than later anyway, hand the reigns to Jonathan now.

Given Kraft's statement regarding accepting punishment, he likely already knows the penalty IMO. You don't defer before judgement day....but he did. Hmmmmmm

I take nothing from that statement, with regards to your post. After all, with the exception of 1 press conference, Kraft has historically done little more than bend over at the instant of any league directive.

YES! Bob completely backed down and bent over from his DEMAND that ABSENT CONCLUSIVE PROOF, the league owes the Patriots an apology. Why not fight it?

This, so much this. Much like the "Brady" rule. No, it's the Palmer rule yet no one will state that. What people let go is that TB is a 6th round pick. Never has that been seen before. He has hurt Gomers chances for a decade and a half. He is not NFL elite. He is the squire who became a Knight. Respected, but not naturally born. That eats at some players of that I'm sure.

Don't speak logically it's not accepted. I've never see a team so hated. Ever. It's society today. Can't accept your team sucks. It's someone else's fault.

The tide changed once before.

The tide changed once before.

The Boston media would be a start. How they go straight for the preceived negative stuff baffles me. Are we in NE or Indy? Well I'm in AZ, but you get my point.

Boston media is all about the "gotcha".

Here are my thoughts:
  • The real tragedy here is that Tom Brady's legacy will be tarnished over something so stupid

And THAT is the entire point of this "investigation." IMHO, it was designed from the start as a way of tarnishing TFB and his "Mr Nice Guy" image. The league can't find a way, short of killing Belichick and Brady, of stopping this team's success. They tried a reputation/integrity hit on Belichick with "spygate" and over the years, people have come to see that it was nothing more than a mean-spirited "gotcha" by a new commissioner who had formerly worked for a division rival, and still had plenty of friends on it's staff.

Now it's Brady's turn. That last Superbowl Ring was what, IMHO, pushed this final determination in the report. The league doesn't dare punish Brady outright. Too many fans to do that. Too big of a risk to the marketing numbers for the NFL. After all, it's the New England Patriots, and that's a damned big local fan base, a regional fanbase, and a national and international fan base. Plus there's the team's owner who has shown, despite his statements, that's he's a real power player among the owners. look what he was able to do to resolve the last strike.

Nope. Can't attack The GOAT outright so they attack his reputation with innuendo. They can toss the red meat out to the haters and let THEM, especially those in the media, do all the dirty work for them. No need for fines. No need for suspensions. No need for anyone in the League office to get their hands dirty. They've got legions of Manning fans and other haters out there (I'm looking at YOU, Borges) all too willing to do the mud slinging, to put the asterix by everything Brady has accomplished, and to keep the rumors swirling.

I've been around for a long time. I've worn the Patriot's laundry since 1974. What I can say for certain is that what goes around, comes around. Look what happened to Mangini after "spygate". Heck, New England rolled off a 16-0 season and came within a circus catch of winning it all and pissing in the Dolphin's cornflakes. Karma loves it when people pull stupid stunts like this. She'll have something in store for the haters and especially for Goodell and his band of thugs and extortionists up in the NFL front offices. I have no doubt about that at all. It might take a little time, but as we all know, payback is a beyatch, and her name is Karma.

To use a certain movie analogy....if the Godfather promises no acts of vengeance, that doesn't mean the son must abide by the father's past commitment.;)

...and you always need a wartime consigliere.

Tanguay and Shaughnessy already have their fangs into this.

If anyone happens to see Kirk Minihane do us all a favor and punch him in the face. Hopefully everyone will take this up.
