Reggie Bush in the building

To be honest, I would much rather we sign Pierre Thomas! One year older, better YPC, never fumbles, and is a very good pass catcher! Let's sign him!

Edelman & S. Johnson outside, Gronk & Chandler in 2 TE set. Bush in backfield.

Edelman, Johnson, and Bush are all capable of moving into the slot at any time, Gronk and Chandler can both split out wide at any time... You could run Bush one play, then split everybody out into a 5-wide the next play. That would be a really great mix of big guys, shifty guys, and speed.

Why are you excluding LaFell in that formation? At this point he is a better player than Stevie Johnson.

It was either of Johnson or LaFell, I included Johnson just for speculatory purposes. Love LaFell, but I do think Johnson could be the better player.

At any stage, I think it's important to keep the core group of Gronkowski, Edelman and LaFell. They're the Patriots three best pass catchers. They also have complimentary skill sets and provide a good mix of speed, size or the ability to get open quickly.

Chandler, Amendola, Dobson and possibly Johnson would be mix and match guys.

Maybe. What I do find ironic is that once Stevie Johnson got his extension and bonus in 2012, his production went in the tank and BUF traded him the following year. Red flags

That mix n match starts for 25% of the the teams in the league.:)

Yeah, I do think that there are some issues there and he may have had a little bit of an ego. My hope would be that his signing here would be a sign that he has been humbled by his total disappearance lately and will get back to work. If he doesn't he will be gone and I am sure he probably knows that.

I hope so. Great talent when his head is on right.
I think he needs to figure out if he still has the passion and the willingness to be great and not coast. If he does, he needs to convince the Pats. Bill will pick up in 10 minutes if he wants it bad enough.

Feel like it's sort of like the Harvin deal. Potentially very good, but with issues. Harvin's talent hadn't really seemed to drop off, but he was a bigger head case. Stevie will need to work harder to get where he needs to be, but his problems are likely easier to overcome.

Why would you say that even if it is true?

Better to say the 2 sides could not reach an agreement.

What on Earth are we doing?
Have you seen the quality of RBs available in the draft this year? I couldn't care less if the Patriots don't bring in a veteran.
