I have to put Paul Brown in there too-- 7 championships & so many innovations.
first coach to
- use game film to scout opponents,
-hire a full-time staff of assistant coaches
-use a written playbook
-use a practice squad
-use many of the common plays now in everyone's playbook
-ignore race in player selection
Yes, without question. I was thinking about the super-bowl area and only included Lombardi because of his 2 super-bowls.
Actually, all time, I would probably include Brown over lombardi, because I think he did more, as you mentioned, for the game.
I am also a huge Otto Graham guy and consider him 2nd behind brady as the best ever.
