(Merged x3) It's All Happening!!! PFT Now Blames The NFL For Tarnishing The PATS Image

Bill's 'theory' is not a theory. It's a law of nature. This so-called 'expert' is wrong. Lower temps reduce pressure. Buy a football and a gauge and do the test yourself if you have any doubts.
Its also not a theory because it is the reporting of results of a test.
The Patriots put the balls through exactly what they went through on game day and tested the psi at each interval.
That is not a theory, that is a scientific test.

This one makes me nervous. If Wilson is arguing, I have a hard time imagining who really is an expert on the subject that would supercede them.

Some sales rep from a company who mistakenly thinks his product is being criticized knows NOTHING

Here's a clue...
Wilson footballs and everything else in the universe obey the laws of physics without exception

Trust me on this.

Which considering it's been almost 2 days, why hasn't someone taken a damn sander to a football yet to see if there is validity to this statement?

And why couldn't the media instead of trying to rehash spygate ask clarifying questions like what did you use to prep the footballs, or how long did the inflated PSI last? You know things that would actually help to progress the story and provide some clarity?

I just saw that Sheldon Richardson was running his mouth about the cheating Pats at the Pro Bowl.

Be careful what you say Sheldon, you might be compensation to the Pats when the investigations are complete.

Wilbur is a joke:

"Jenkins suggested “maybe in a year or two” the PSI would fluctuate after being introduced to different environments, which seems to fly in the face of the dozens upon dozens of amateur science experiments that took place throughout New England last week. He did, however, relent that the ball’s pressure may change if you put it in a freezer, then unfreeze it."
---------

Ummmm, "dozens of amateur scientists"? You idiot, your OWN PAPER just published a report that 4 MIT scientists backed Belichick's science on this.

---------

http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...ooler-place/2KfFPHn9dARXXCwMgBMSkO/story.html

"It’s basic physics, folks.

Four of the Boston area’s best scientific minds, zeroing in on the controversy over the Patriots’ use ofunderinflated footballs, agreed: If you take a ball from a warm place to a cool place, it will lose air pressure.

“Professor Belichick got it exactly right,” said Richard P. Binzel, professor of planetary science at MIT, referring to the Patriots’ coach, Bill Belichick."

But please, Eric, continue to "mold" the story!

This whole thing has taken a turn and has now become and episode of 'Suits' :p

Rivalry? Does a nail have a rivalry with a hammer?
That's the most glaring point. He is covering all bases. "We respect the Pats" > "We hate the Pats". And the worst one: "the fire burns hot"? No it doesn't. We own you, and you hate it. Thats what burns. And that is what's going to nail him. Vendetta gone bad.

This is what drives me crazy. BB stated the methodology planely and clearly. It's a very replicable exercise. If someone wants to refute it, then re-create it. Experts conjecturing over what should happen from an armchair should know better. Data beats no data.

Its not Wilson, it's somebody who works for Wilson, and any reputable journalist would have made that distinction clear. This is like going to McDonald's and asking someone at the counter if chicken nuggets are fat free. Then if they say yes, writing "McDonalds says their chicken nuggets are fat free."

I don't thnk Wilson corporate appreciated their employee doing that, I also don't think Corporate would ever make such a ridiculous claim that pressure can't change with environment.

Should we start a comprehensive FRAMEGATE thread?

The Wilson guy probably meant no air leaks out of the footballs, but that is not in dispute, it's the air pressure within the football. the ideal gas law states that pressure and temperature are proportional w/ each other with all other factors equal

Maybe some "journalist" should call them and ask.

Please post any facts, rumors, and innuendo here.

What do we know?

Who was involved?

What did they do?

What was their motivation?

What should their punishments be?

I'm leaning strongly that way AFTER Media (circus) Day tomorrow.

I'll check with Ian and the other Mods, but a shift on Wednesday to game mode with one consolidated FRAMEGATE thread seems like a good plan.

The facts haven't come out. Tom Brady is still guilty. Character assassination must continue until proven innocent.

Has anyone seen an experiment where they did something similar to Carnegie Melon and the psi hasn't fallen? I have only heard "opinions" that it wouldn't fall.

Anyone?

What do we know?

- Brady inflated the balls

- Belichick is a master-cheat

- Patriots are a bunch of arrogant pricks.

The end.
